My timeline/Peterson AFB

my ebenefits went weird yesterday so I called Providence today. My ratings are done! But he wouldn't tell me anything lol. I have to wait to get the official letter. He said it'd be 1-10 work days for the letter to be sent out.
Fingers crossed its only 1 day! Haha. I just need my final out date...I'm ready to get this the hell over with.

I don't think the official letter from the VA goes to us, it goes to the board. We can wait 10 business days and then have them sent or faxed. Otherwise it is just waiting for the PEB to finalize their parts and our PEBLOs then contacting us. Hope that is quick for you. I am going to swing by the VA hospital tomorrow to see if they will give me a copy of my proposed ratings. I'll keep you posted.

Alright, danihaha! I bite that carrot you dangled and there has been no movement in my ebenefits. I'm starting to get a little jealous now. :) I hope you hear something soon.

Haha! Just call OAC or Providence. They should be able to tell you where you are at. I'm so ready to get the hell out of here. My Chief keeps trying to convince me to study for MSgt since I test 28 Mar. No thanks. I have no interest...I have to find a job and a place to live...a lil more important than testing for a rank I'll never see. (and the smiling in my face and telling me I shouldn't just take whatever they give me and appeal is annoying since I know my CC letter was based on his rec....I have just met my CC who didn't know me prior to the DO NOT RETAIN, NO C-CODE letter)

sorry for my rant...I'm really just over it. Lol

Hope you get some info soon!

Well no luck at the VA. The Florida dept of VA couldn't see the proposed rating. So now waiting either for the PEB or 10 business days.

Ok so I just received this MyPers email...

Your Air Force Form 356, Findings and Recommended Disposition of USAF Physical Evaluation Board was sent to the Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) at your base Medical Treatment Facility. Your PEBLO will explain the Informal Physical Evaluation Board findings and recommended disposition. You can request a copy for your personal records.

Your PEBLO will ask you to sign an Air Force Form 1180, Action on Physical Evaluation Board Findings and Recommended Disposition. The Air Force Form 1180 provides Airmen an option to agree or disagree with the PEB decision. We recommend you contact the Office of Airmen’s Counsel (OAC) prior to signing the form.

I tried calling PEBLO, no answer, so hopefully tomorrow.

Woohoo arp166! Not gonna lie, a little jealous that you were sent a week after me and now ahead of me. Haha. Good luck on your ratings! Make sure to post what you find out. :)

Well I received my ratings...
DOD 30%/VA 60% PDRL

I will be submitting a VARR most likely after I talk with OAC.

Indeed, congratulations on the receipt of your IPEB findings with placement onto the DoD military PDRL! :D Take care!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!

Congrats!!
Why will you submit the VARR?

What base are you at?

I am at MacDill. I was rated at 30% for constrictive bronchiolitus and asthma because I use several daily inhalers. I am also on daily high dose steroids which should make the rating 100%, not the 30%. My ratings should have been DOD 100%/VA 100%. I was thankful for the PDRL and the combat zone.

If you haven't already, register on the Burn Pit Registry! There's also a Facebook group called "Veteran 2 Veteran Info" that has a lot of useful info (and a ton of support for everyone). my ebenefits has moved to "gathering evidence". My MSC said my ratings have been sent back tot he PEB today...so hopefully I get my stuff next week...earlier than later. I'm really just hoping for 30% DoD. If I get less than 30 its not the end of the world...I'll still be alright. I already don't plan on submitting a VARR or FPEB.

Yup I am on the registry and in some great studies for deployment related lung diseases. I would have been ok however the results came back, it's just that the VA C&P exams specifically stated the steroids and someone missed that.

I am sure you will get your results next week, mine took only 4 business days. Good Luck!!

Were your PFT results on the C&P exam as well?

If they used the PFT to rate you, they use the value after you have taken the bronchodilator. That's why I got lowballed on my asthma/COPD. My FEV-1 was 33 before and 64 after so I only got 30%. Since I also have sleep apnea, I came away with 50% for respiratory.

The day has come!!

20% DoD/20% VA

I have put a call in to OAC just to review, but I will more than likely be signing in agreement. I had 2 unfitting conditions, both rated at 10% each. For VA, I had an additional 7 conditions each rated at 0%.

Good luck to everyone else out there!!

Congrats!! I hope it was what you deserve! Good luck in your next chapter!

I'm happy you've received your answer! Can I ask how long you've been in? I am at 17 years and I think I'd cry if I was given 20% DoD. I know you mentioned that you were ok with it though. :)

I have been in for almost 14 years (June 10). I'm not happy with the 20%, but it is what it is.

For reference, I have arthritis in one hip....so only one joint affected, no ROM limitations, only painful movement. Although I do require a hip replacement but will not be given one until I am 50 (I'm 34)...and my prognosis is "poor". My 2nd unfitting condition is a rare heart condition called Long QT Syndrome...asymptomatic, no history of fainting/passing out, completed stress test at 10.10 METS with no symptoms, on a beta-blocker for prevention of Sudden Cardiac Arrest/fatal arrhythmia.

0% ratings include IBS, Migraines, Chronic ovarian cysts, and some other random things.
