Luke AFB MEB timelime

Hello, I don't go to Luke Afb but I came across this forum and was wondering maybe yall can help me out. So I am stationed at Shaw AFB and I am getting Medically retired. I got 60% from DOD and 100% from VA. I got my orders and my last day is 27 Nov. I was talking to my peblo counseler and she stated that I get 20 PTDY already added in when I go to finance on top of my terminal. Then she said that I can get an additional 20 days PTDY if my commander approves it ? Is this true? I am trying to get clarification because my leadership doesn't think this is true. Thanks!
You get 20 days of PTDY and whatever your leave balance is. So you wouldnt get 20 days of PTDY and then another 20 days of PTDY...if thats what you were asking. But it is up to your commander on whether or not you get the 20 days of PTDY.

Thanks I appreciate the response back. Maybe she was stating 20 days extra for Outproccessing? I will have to verify what she was talking about. Thanks!

Yes that sounds right. My PEBLO told me I had 20 days for outprocessing, 20 days of PTDY and then whatever balance I had on my leave.

Okay yeah that sounds right. So with the 20 days of Outproccessing, is there some sort of Afi or form that says I can apply for it?

The outprocessing days are automatically factored into your retirement date projection. You don't have to apply for it. Welcome to the 27 Nov retirement gang.

You get 20 days PTDY for out processing. The 20 days PTDY for house hunting and job hunting is up to your chain of command on how much, if any, they will allow you.

My commander is only authorizing me 12 days PTDY on top of my 29 days of leave. I'm actually okay with that though since my final out date is 16 Oct, if I got the 20 days then I'd literally have only next week to out process.

Got my separation date approved. 27 Oct 17! Should have my orders Monday morning.

Awesome! Congratulations, magoo! Hoping my orders drop as well!

So I ended up going back down to separations to talk to them about what was taking so long. He called the guy that was literally working on my package when we called. He said that he was finishing up and I would have them in hard Monday morning. I checked vMPF today and it showed I was coded to separate and had my 27 Oct date as my separation date. So that works out perfect for me since I started my Permissive leave Monday when I get my orders. Good luck everyone!

Congrats, Magoo! I'm so glad this process is done and over for you! Good luck with the separation.

So I didn’t end up with orders today but an email from AFPC saying everything my orders would say lol. My PEBLO then told me that I would t get actual orders and that email was my orders...obviously wrong. Talked to separations and they said I should have them in the next day or two. On the bright side finance went ahead and approved my permissive and terminal leave, which my terminal started today ... so as long as I have them before my terminal starts I am good.

Question...When trying to complete my DD214 it shows my separation date as 13 Apr 19, which was my original DOS. Is it supposed to show my new date? Thanks!

So I actually just got off of the phone with AFPC and I asked your question. They stated that even if your retirement date was updated in MilPDS and generated retirement orders for you, your DD214WS would still show your old DOS. The representative said you should be able to manually change it on the worksheet to the approved retirement date (if you know it). Not sure if that's accurate as it's been a long time since I've tinkered with the worksheet.

I tried and it wouldn’t let me. I’ll have to go back and try again. Thanks for the info.

I got the same answer today when I called AFPC. Told me to check back next week.

My Chief and I will check on the status of what is going on Monday. HQ AFPC/DPPD is supposed to determine the retirement or discharge date no later than 10 days from the date of the Secretarial determination of unfitness. They may have their hands tied due to some system issue, but my Chief will call to confirm if that is what is going on.

Thanks! I will check with them Monday morning to determine a potential get-well-date for the updates/orders, if applicable.
