New MEB

I'm currently being med boarded for migraines | myalgia | back pain | flat feet & plantar fasciitis
I'm Air Force and currently being MEB'd for myalgia/myofascial pain. I have all the other conditions you mentioned but only being Med board for that one condition. I'm surprise that your provider included your feet in your NARSUM as being an unfit condition, so kudos on that. If you have questions I will do my best to help. I'm currently waiting on AFPC to review my VA ratings.

I spoke to my peblo about everything and asked her what conditions I had that were considered unfitting- she agreed that my feet could be added especially since I had the documentation from a podiatrist and my pcm . I have to see my pcm one more time so he can write my Narsum - he thought since all my issues were neurological - my neurologist was in charge since he was the one who iniated the med board but we all know that's not how it works when you have multiple things wrong that fall under different specialities [ mine being neurosurgery - neurology and podiatry ) - good luck on the rest of your process

keep us posted. I never heard of a foot issue being added as an unfit condition. there is an AF regn that states which condition can be considered unfitting. good luck. .

Yeah pes planus [ fallen arches - pretty much flat feet ) and plantar fasciitis are def med boardable conditions if nothing is helping . One of my friends was med boarded solely on these issues .

I have both those conditions, and have received custom insoles which still do nothing. I'm just hoping for a good VA rating for it.

Yeah same here - I even had surgery - still didn't work . Hopefully the VA takes care of it but I was very stern about my feet being apart of my med board

Oh yeah that should definitely be added then! I received my ratings this afternoon and I ended up with 50% for my feet. Overall I was 40DoD/100VA, so I'm so happy have this chapter come to a close, and you hope that things work out the same for you. Like I mentioned before, if you have any questions please let me know and I will do my best to help :)

Thank you and you will too! When you get ready to go for your C&P exams you can message me and I will let know what the va doc said or did for the conditions you're being MEB'd for since I was rated for all of those. Also make sure you claim EVERYTHING! If you stubbed your toe on the bed once...claim it. Everything that I went to the doc for be it major or minor, I claimed

Thank you !
I'm also Active Duty Air Force and I sat as a PEBLO for 4.5 years so anything I can help you with, I will do my best. Also, I'm also currently going through my own MEB, have been since the beginning of last year and still waiting on a disposition. I understand the fear of the unknown and any other emotions and feelings they you may be experiencing at the moment.

Anyone know the process to get a second opinion when your pcm or specialist isn't willing to add something to your MEB or is misdiagnosing

My last C&P exam was today . He said I had 32 claimed conditions . I have 5 referred conditions [ fibromyalgia - cervicalgia - migraines - flat feet - plantar fasciitis ) - I guess I’m just waiting to get all the paperwork back from the VA to review .

7 Aug 2017 - Narsum submitted
14 Aug 2017 - Full MEB decided
15 Sep 2017 - contacted by VA
26 Sept 2017 - first C&P exam
16 Oct 2017 - last C&P exam

I M ON MEB process waiting on orders... if someone can tell about the back pay for MEB process. I was told that the day you apply for VA benefits is the a day one and that VA will back pay you. So If I'm getting Medical separated from active duty am I be able to to get back pay or this all wrong???????

That doesn't apply to MedBoard claims. Your day one will be after you are separated.

Also, keep in mind that if you are separated vs retired you have to pay back your sep pay before you get your VA pay since your sep pay is related to your medical separation...at least that is what I have been told.

AFLady4, thanks for your comment about the back pay.. about the SEV Pay I will not have to pay it back different situations apply to that and based on the CFR only the recoup not the whole check.

You're welcome. That's right. My injury isn't combat related. I have to pay it back.

but even thou isn't combat related you still have other requirements that make you exempt to pay it back. which is my case, I'm not combat related but I don't have to pay it back.....your MSC would of tell you that.. doesn't make any sense right? but hey My MSC didn't tell me anything about paying it back and I ask him like 3 times and he said to listen to his words "YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY IT BACK"
