I'm over 20 Guard years and 19 AGR. Package got caught right before being sent to AFPC (IPEB) and now on hold until resolution, which could take a while. Although I could begin terminal leave for regular retirement in May, I fear being extended due to this process dragging out in what seems like forever. One issue after the next.
Could I drop papers for regular AGR retirement at this point or is it too late? I would rather just plan on starting terminal in May and going that route. And at least have my active duty retirement abd whatever VA ratings on top of it.

Sucks can't take leave without going through 3 different people for approval because of medboard and even then can't be too far away.

If you are wanting to drop your papers I say go for it. The longer you wait the harder it will be to fight the MEB. Let the Air Force figure it out and tell you no.

That being said, I don't know if it will hold you up, but the nice thing is that you'll have your VA stuff done and a rating in the system upon your retirement.

Thanks! I will try going in vMPF and seeing what I can do. I checked my RIP and didn't see anywhere that I was coded 37.
I've been at this for over a year and just tired of this broken process and incompetence.

Will advise what message, if any, I get when I apply!

I've heard from multiple sources that one can't retire while going through a MEB but since I'm at 19 active (+20 total time) does that matter due to presumption of fitness? Ahhhh. What fun!

That is true, but it seems like you are in the beginning stages of a MEB and if you're not coded 37 you might be able to slide under the wire. I was going through the beginning stages of the MEB, but b/c I wasn't coded 37 in the system my assignment team distro'd PCS orders and told me they couldn't pull them until I was coded 37.

Not sure if you'd get tangled up in the retirement physical, though. They may see that you were in the process of a MEB and initiate it holding up your retirement.

You mentioned that your MEB package is on hold...why did they pull it back?
