TAMP after MEB

I have run into the issue where Tricare is wanting my DD214 to enroll in TAMP but obviously I do not have it yet because I will not get it until I separate...I am being told I have to enroll in TAMP before I separate or I lose the benefit and Tricare does not see my eligibility code in DEERS to enroll me. Seems like a catch 22 that the system will not show that code until I separate and Tricare wont enroll me until I see the code. Am I missing something? I have talked to everyone and their mother about it and they told me to go to the ID card place to have them fix it but they told me to come back on my DOS to do it then and to get the new ID card (of course they are appointment only and their first appointment isnt until Nov...too late). Anyone else encountered this? Thanks!

Well I talked to Tricare the day I separated and they told me that we are automatically enrolled in TAMP, which was the exact opposite as I was told in TAPS. Called a few times to confirm and they said I was...so hopefully that should help some people.

TAMP is for guard or reserve coming off deployment. If you are a retirees you won't qualify for TAMP. you can pay the premium and keep your tricare.

I got separated so I qualify for TAMP for 6 months after my separation date. I was automatically enrolled though, which was confusing after everyone I talked to.

Oh ok, try gong to DEERS and your local personnel office and tell them what's going on. They may be able to provide some guidance.

You also qualify for five years of free healthcare with the VA and a one time dental exam (if one was not performed in your last 180 days on active duty).

I got 100% P&T from the VA so I should be good ;)
