This is great! Only caveat I would offer is that they do require you to put your credit card info in, and it will start renewing at the regular monthly rate at the end of the 5 years unless you cancel it beforehand. Definitely a great resource for networking and job seeking. Thanks, Ranger! Carl

    Forced MRB

Do you have anything from your PCM declaring that you are fit for full duty? It would seem so, given your recovery, and if so, this "unfit" allegation should be a moot point.

Still fighting local confusion over taking terminal leave

It is also worth noting that if you find yourself in a situation where you could be indebted to the government (recoupment of SRB, for example), your sold-back leave will go towards that debt upon discharge. In that case, it would clearly behoove you to take the leave rather than sell it back. I...

VA Compensation and Garnished Separation Pay

Yeah, I've come to grips with the fact that they're going to get that money back (again). At this point, I'm pretty sure it would require some sort of legal action. When I received the letter saying that the remainder of my debt had been waived, I replied asking why the whole debt wasn't...

VA Compensation and Garnished Separation Pay

If I'm reading what I've found online correctly, it looks like they're going to recoup based on what's listed on my DD-214, which of course doesn't reflect the fact that I never actually received my ISP. How crazy is it that I'm actually being penalized for getting ISP, since if I hadn't...

VA Compensation and Garnished Separation Pay

I understand not wanting to give bogus info. Thanks for clarifying the back pay situation! Any of the pros/folks who may have been through a similar situation able to answer the separation pay/VA benefits question? Thanks, Carl

VA Compensation and Garnished Separation Pay

Hello, all. I am currently moving into the final stages of my VA compensation claim and I was wondering a few things. First and foremost, when I was separated (Navy admin sep for "other physical/mental condition"), my involuntary separation pay (along with several other pays and allowances) was...

Continuing the fight (de-nuked ETC(SS) involuntarily adsep'd and indebted)

I tried to get an MEB. The psychiatrist said he couldn't "in good conscience" send me to one because I was in fact fit for full duty - with medication, there was absolutely nothing (save regulations) preventing me from performing my duties.

Continuing the fight (de-nuked ETC(SS) involuntarily adsep'd and indebted)

*laughs* Well, that's the thing. I was involuntarily separated under MPM 1910-120 because I had been diagnosed with and treated for Major Recurring Depression, which disqualified me from the nuclear program (as I had to continue taking medication at the time). Even though I was being treated...

Continuing the fight (de-nuked ETC(SS) involuntarily adsep'd and indebted)

Got my reply today from the Deputy Assistant SECNAV: "As responsible stewards of tax payer dollars and as a personnel policy, Navy has historically recouped all unearned portions of pays and benefits for members who are separated under medical conditions that are not considered disabilities...

Um.. I guess this goes here?

If I can throw in a pitch here, I'm currently attending Saint Leo University through their Center for Online Learning, working towards a B.S. in Computer Information Systems (they offer a pretty good range of majors through their online program). They also have local campuses across the country...

    Nuclear duty and Hydroxyzine

It's available in the MANMED, Chapter 15, pages 15-80 and 15-81. Any "psychopharmaceuticals" are disqualifying. The instruction only lists exceptions (of which there are few). I didn't see hydroxyzine listed as an exception. I was disqualified for taking Wellbutrin, which is often used elsewhere...

Continuing the fight (de-nuked ETC(SS) involuntarily adsep'd and indebted)

Greetings, all. I'm posting here to actually establish a separate thread regarding my situation, discussed in detail on this thread that I seem to have hijacked: http://www.pebforum.com/site/threads/rate-conversion-disapproved-separate-no-med-board.7065/ Disqualification and Separation Long...

Rate Conversion disapproved-separate, no med board

Thanks for the offer, Nate, but it's way out of PERS-82's hands now. The only way you could help me is to ensure that other sailor's waiver packages don't get lost in Ms. Billingsley's email inbox for 8 months like mine did. I can understand small delays, and I can understand extended processing...

    Nuke facing De-Nuking

I'm glad things have worked out to your benefit, ET2. The only thing that worries me is that this just seems to continue the nuclear Navy's tradition of forcing sailors to choose between treatment for medical issues of varying severity and their careers. I wish you the best and hope it all...
