I am trying to gauge at the moment how far backed up the IPEB is right now. I saw someone comment the other day that their package was sent around Nov 17 and they haven't heard anything yet for being fit or unfit for duty. Are any of you all before this date?

My package was sent to the IPEB Dec 2nd and was told then that it would be 2-3 months.

Unfortunately mine was sent up 21 Nov and I still haven't heard anything about it. I call every week and bug providence and they keep saying USAF is extremely backed up and they haven't received the results of my PEB yet. Hoping its coming soon though!

I wonder if anyone is still waiting from October yet? If not you should be soon then!

The VA received my package on 11/21/16, and they returned their bit to AFPC (the IPEB folks) around 1/10/17. I was told that it would take about a week to get the final disposition from the IPEB... and that time has come and gone. I was told by my PEBLO that the IPEB folks have been short a couple of docs which was delaying the process. So now I'm hoping to know something this week.

When was your package first sent to the IPEB?

My package was sent up 19 Nov, haven't heard anything and my PEBLO is useless. So I've been calling the VA every week, now twice a week asking for updated status. Ebenifits showed my status going backwards and which the VA said isn't correct. So Ebennies is pointless now. I sent a message/question to the VA asking for a decision be made, betting I will not hear back. I'm at Pending Final Approval since 13 Jan 17....still no word. I'm now good and pissed at this BS process.

My supervisor called my PEBLO on 24 Jan to ask a status update and she said the PEB told her a timeline of roughly 3 weeks for fit/unfit based on current case load. Not sure if that's accurate or useful to anyone, but I still plan on calling her at the 2 week mark (Tuesday can't come soon enough!). I don't think she actually looked in the system to see if anything was updated for me since everything she told my sup was generic.

That doesn't sound right. kbad9289 has been waiting since 21 November. That would put you at least a month or more of waiting. Unless they kicked it in high gear after returning from the holidays. If I remember tomorrow I will give my PEBLO a call and see what she thinks.

I sent the VA a message (professional yet stern) and got a call back from Providence, RI the next day (Wed). Turns out there was confusion on one of my claims and my package was stalled. I cleared the confusion and my POC told me he spoke to the final approval person today (Thursday) and she completed it. He said he would email me Friday or Monday with ratings. He also is the one that sends out the notification letter through snail mail. So pumped to just know my ratings finally!!

I just used chat to talk to VA and they told me "pending final review". Would you assume this means unfit?

I have no idea what that means.

I did call my PEBLO this morning. She said that the PEB is still backed up 30 days. She also mentioned that she just got the ratings back for an individual whose package was sent up in early October. Based off of that, it could put me at hearing back from the IPEB/VA around late March to early April. Then add 30-60 days for out processing and stuff and i'll be out by late May to early June.

So I spoke to the VA on Friday and they said on the 25th they received my PEB results and that it should take no longer than 30 days to finish my proposed ratings and get it back to the PEB. So hopefully that means you all aren't too much further behind me!

They couldn't directly tell me I was unfit but he said that only unfit determinations go through the VA so I'm taking that as an unfit. He said that once they receive the packet they have 20 calendar days to finish the proposed ratings and then they're sent back to the PEB & PEBLO at the same and I should receive my ratings within 10 days of them being sent.
