What or who determines an incapacitating episode? My Commander's Letter reflects me missing 25-30 duty days due to my injury. I have also been put on quaters by my NCOIC. Does that warrant incapacitating episodes? I still have Doctor's excuses for most missed days. Can someone please clarify this for me? Thank you all in advance.

I hurt my back downrange while working. I have a severely herniated L5-S1 W/Stenosis/Left leg Paresthesias/left Foot Drop. When I would experience these episodes I was usually sent home to get some rest. I do still have some documentation of missed days from my Pain Management Specialist. Thank you VAJumper.

4 weeks during the past 12 months 20
With incapacitating episodes having a total duration of at least one week but less than
2 weeks during the past 12 months 10

Hi guys, the other thing I read and know from my experience is that it the bed rest is prescribed by a physician-so make sure you get doctor notes!!! This has been a tough thing to prove. People get sent home from their units to rest up. Its not going to count-stop by the ER or your doctors office and let them know whats going on, get on quarters for a day or three and make it count! Documentation by a physician! Its in the reg somewhere... Guam, I hope you feel better soon!
