Results are in! Now what?

I received my results in early June and the letter I received was dated early May. I have read several posts that give indication of how long it takes to get an updated DD214 and retirement orders, but they were all Army. Anyone in here from the Air Force side that can tell me how long it took after you got your letter, until the next step happened? (what ever that step may be?)

thanks!

Im in the same situation. My letter and results were dated same as yours. I called the AFPC number given on our letter and didn't get much info except nothing will move forward until we receive the SBP briefing. Not sure who answered on my first call, as I was still in shock from receiving the letter, but she said it will be long an arduous process. She also mentioned someone had been in this process for three years?!? Ms. Adams is the person answered the second time I called and advised me she has around 60 or so of these letters on her desk. I am guessing around 60 days from receipt of the letter before I get my SBP briefing. Mine will be over the phone because I live further then 50 miles from the closest AF base. A couple of other AF people on this board got thier letters in January but have not heard nothing else except, "there is a long backlog, please be patient" email.

Would like to find an AF individual who has been through the entire process to see timelines.

I will keep you updated as I get info.

Thanks!! Feels good to not be alone :) I also called and spoke with Ms. Adams. Called on 11 June (day after I got the letter from the mailbox). Then I called her again today and she told me to chill out basically LOL. She explained that there are a lot on her desk but gave me no estimation of time. 3 years!?! From this point? That is crazy. It has already been over 2 years since I submitted everything. I will let you know if/when I hear anything as well..... and we wait......

Yeah, Im not sure who answered the phone when I called the first time. She just took down my info and said Ms. Adams would call. The three year comment, I hope, is the exception and not the rule. It had been almost two years since I submitted my package as well. Quite honestly I forgot I had even submitted the letter.

Thanks! How long did it take after the receipt of the acceptance letter until you met with PEBLO? (I don't even know what PEBLO is yet, so I am not there).
Took 30 days from meeting with PEBLO to get and accept results to get retirement orders.
I think this is based off an Active Duty med board to med retirement. PEBLO's handle the active duty individuals from the med board process to the VA and separation. I was told by Ms. Adams, active duty have priority during the separation process, so I am not sure we can use this timeline.

The meeting I referenced was not my first meeting, but my meeting with PEBLO after the PEB had made its decision. The answer was in the context of the question asked by the original post.

Understood. But, we both fall under the PDBR (disability rating changed from med sep to med retired) and have been separated from the military for years. PEBLO have to do supporting the active duty med separations/retirements. Unfortunately, in our situation we don't have a PEBLO to contact to help facilitate this matter.

I just received my approval letter last week. Curious to know what's next as I am not able to find anything out. My disability rating was changed from 20% to 30%, I have a rating of 30% at the VA. The letter says it can take several months for the pay out, but what about the other benefits I am now eligible for? When will I be able to obtain Tricare? Also, has anyone actually received a payout? My severance was paid back already to the VA, do I still have to worry about it being recouped?

From what I am seeing on this forum, the time frame will depend, a lot, on which branch you were in. Army and Navy seem to have a fairly quick turnaround on the paperwork and getting vets there new documentation stating they are now retired. Air Force is a different story. We have to wait for the survivor benefit briefing (SBP) and after that I haven't found anyone on this forum who has been passed this briefing. I received my letter almost a month ago and called AFPC per the letter. Just waiting on my briefing now.

From my understanding, if your VA rating is a 30% and you mil rating went from 20% to 30% it will be a break even and you will continue to get your 30%. You will now get the retired mil ID and able to use base for all the amenities a retired mil member. You can also get Tricare. But before all this you will need to get your amended DD214. I am assuming we will all be receiving the DD215 for this correct.

Thank you for the information. I guess only time will truly tell if and when this will all be corrected. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Update: Progress is good, right? I just got my return call from Ms. Adams. She gave me the name and number of the person I need to call at my local base to schedule my survivor benefits briefing. I hope everyone else is seeing progress too! She told me that she was calling a lot of people today so that's a good sign for us AF folks that were waiting on her....

Thats Great!! Might be awhile before I hear. Have to have mine via phone because I live to far from an Air Force base.
