I left the Active Army and went into the Army Reserve last fall and was just recently rated 100% disabled by the VA. I have a total of about 12 and a half years of active duty time (22 years total service - active and reserve combined) and it was suggested to me that I should have pursued medical retirement under Chapter 61. Is it too late for me to still do this?

Do you have a reserve 20 year letter? If so then pushing for a MEB would be the way to go.
 
Thanks for the quick response. I am currently waiting for the 20 year letter now and hopefully will have it in the next 60 days or so. Can you tell me the process for requesting a MEB?
