Hey everybody any input would be greatly appreciated.

On 20Aug 2009 I was medically seperated with a 10% combat related injury from Army. I recieved severance pay of $x amount. (Honestly dont remember the amount but close to 20k).

As of todays date my Va rating is 80%, however im recieving individual unemployability. Receiving 100% pay. I HAD TO PAY BACK ALL OF MY SEVERANCE PAY BEFORE I EVER RECEIVED ALL OF MY VA PAY.???? (This is what Im inquiring about)

I have only recently learned that since my medical seperation was due to a combat related injury, I shouldn't have had to pay that severance check back. Is that correct???

If so what is the process, or how do I go about getting that money back? Do I go talk to my local va office about it or what?

Also not sure if this matters but DoD USAF sent me an application to review my PDBR to check on increasing my medical seperation rating. Knowing this should I even attempt to collect the severance check money they took back from me? The one thing I do not wanna do, is jeopardize the ongoing PDBR.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
