Team, 1. Appreciate you all, and the info/help this board and thread provide. I hope I am asking a clear question, that doesn't have too obvious an answer so i don't look too clueless. I will be brief. 2. BLUF: Last year (AUG '23), at my 30 year mark, 5 weeks before "out the door", Doc's found something that DoD doesn't currently have a case of (according to my Tricare/and DHA reps) and would require extending me past my Mandatory Retirement Date (MRD) to get treated and recover. I was previously extended to AUG '24. I will finally be operated on May-June 24, and am expected to submit a second extension out to '25 (cautionary) to meet the operation/recovery timeline. I will NOT meet "retention" requirements for either, my medical...
Hello, I am in the medboard process just got my referral put in and was wondering about claiming things for VA disability that I haven’t been exactly seen for. Example is knee pain and popping. I have put in on PHA but never went to be sick call or physical therapy for it. Is that enough for that claim to be accepted as medical evidence or does it have to be the sole reason for a sick visit/physical therapy? Should I still go to be seen for it? It’s kinda hard to go to sick call here at Fort Eisenhower due to they took it away and have to make a same day appointment at 0600 or wait a month and 1/2 to see a provider or just go to the hospital. Ultimately what advice do y’all have or should I wait for the end of service medical exam?
So I was issued my P3 profile April 9 and I’m still waiting for the second signature. I contacted the meb office and they mentioned they did see it and I was on the list so my question is should I just wait for them or what?
What's the general consensus, should I bring documents pertaining to that specific exam with me? I'm seeing in various places that I should bring documents pertaining to that visit but my PEBLO just told me that I should only bring documents that affect my status, i.e., any changes in the status of the condition I'm going through the MEB for and that they have access to everything else. Mostly concerned as I'm still constantly going through appointments and I've had changes in medication and treatment plans since I was referred for MEB for different conditions. TIA!
Hello! I am AD Air Force. Here is a little snippet of how my MEB stuff is going. 2023 Aug 8 - Code 37 Oct 10 - IDES referral sent to afpc Oct 20 - Met with peblo to sign IDES Nov 2 - MH VA Exam ° Uploaded to TOL 16 Nov Dec 7 - VA Audiogram ° Uploaded to TOL 12 Dec Dec 8 - C&P VA Exam 2024 Jan 4 - VA Diagnostic PFA (pulmonology) Feb 9 - VA Diagnostic Exams ° EKG ° Lab work ° Echocardiogram Since my last c&p exam resulted in needing follow-up appointments, does anyone know how much longer this process with take? Also, has anyone tried reaching out to a provider that did one of their c&p exams? I'm going on 5 weeks from my last...
So here's my timeline SO far for San Diego. Dec 5 2023: Notified of medboard through OIX. Dec 8 2023: Met with intake Peblo. December 15 2023: MDB January 09 2024: Meeting with Lawyer. January 19: QTZ reached out to me for VA apt's. February 15 2024: Done with alla pt's for VA. MH, Imagery, Audio, full body, labs. March 7 2024: PEBLO called me with VA report. March 21 2024: PEBLO got NARSUM signature from the convening authority, and set off case file to PEB. Waiting for the rest. Does anyone else have San Diego Timelines for IDES/VA/when they sent off their case file? Been a month, and the time seems to be pretty rough for me mentally daily. Thanks!
I posted this in the Fibromyalgia forum also. I am thankful for any guidance anybody can give me on the following! BLUF: In order to receive CRSC, does the PEB or VA paperwork HAVE to say combat-related, or will the CRSC make their own determination as to being combat-related? According to United States Code, fibromyalgia is a presumptive condition due to service in Southwest Asia. I developed fibro shortly after (or maybe during) my deployment to Iraq. DETAILS: I received my ratings through the IDES process, 60% Army, 80% VA. I have been rated 40 percent by the VA for fibromyalgia. I have to answer by 16 July. I may want to appeal the fact it does not reflect fibromyalgia as combat-related. Section V of my DA Form 199, dated 20140701...

Good day you all. I greatly appreciate the input that people post in this forum. So I, as many of you, have been initiated a MEB/PEB. I am an Army National Gaurd Soldier on ADOS (Full Time National Guard Duty (FTNGD)) with 15+ years of Active Federal Service (AFS). My condition is a rare autoimmune disease known as Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA), formerly known as Wegner's Polyangiitis and has been diagnosed by military rheumatology and all records are in MHS Genesis while on FTNGD with no breaks in active service. This condition was brought on first last year and has been exasperated over the last nine or so months. I have to have regular treatments (daily medications and infusions every six months). With this my doctor has...
Hello all, From reading this forum alot, I notice in many of the cases, the NARSUM is submitted after VA claims and C&P exams. In my case my PEBLO already has my NARSUM, with both of my referred conditions, and he says its already signed by the MEB officer, although I haven't signed anything yet. Is this going to screw me? It just seems different than most cases, and I would appreciate any information or input.
I just received notice from the Air Force that my case is continuing to MEB / IPEB. Does anyone know if it can or should be delayed due to a family pregnancy? My wife is about 7 weeks and we haven't really told anyone yet. Obviously, the stress of separation on top of a pregnancy will weigh on us. Fortunately we have Jack Gately helping with my case. He has been awesome. That reduces some of the stress. I figured I would ask here first to get experience and opinions on what to do. I am confident I could get my leadership to go to bat for whatever we think we need. But NGB directing an MEB may also take it out of their hands at this point?
Not alot of information out there that I can find regarding Estimated Separation Date while undergoing MEB for Skillbridge. So far: 1. Go through Education Office directly, not AFVEC... 2. Convince command that you are out the door and a really cool dude. 3. The following - The ETP is worked through your education office/MAJCOM and not your CC. I was able to get mine signed/approved in two days. Don’t let people tell you no because they simply do not know. Once you have your FL-4 from the PEBLO saying to push with a full MEB you are eligible to apply for the ETP and begin SkillBridge. Your 180 day SkillBridge window starts once you receive the FL-4 according to HAF. DAFI36-2670, 6.10.2.1.4. Expect to be discharged or released from...
Ok so hear me out... This guy I know is an Army Reservist with a couple master degrees and a good civilian job. He votes in every election, and mows his elderly neighbor's lawn for free. However, he is also a bodybuldier and use steroids... How is this related to his C&P exam you ask? He is already 100% va p&t from a few years back and about to start IDES. He is worried about being reevaluated for anemia (10% rating). By the unrounded numbers he is rated at 95% so every rating counts. The particular substance he uses/used has the long term effect of increasing red blood cells. Even after stopping its use, it would take months, maybe a year for his red blood cell count to drop again. Looking at recent medical bloodwork, he has...
Good afternoon to all, My buddy is letting me use his account to ask a question. I don't really expect to get an answer. MEB STARTED: DEC 13, 2023 MET PEBLO: JAN 3, 2024 IDES BRIEF: Jan 9, 2024 Profile approved by DIV SUR: Jan 23, 2024 Packet sent to VA for exams: Jan 30, 2024 Contacted by QTC: Jan 31, 2024 C&P exams from: Feb 1, 2024 to Feb 23, 2024 It seems to be moving pretty quick to me, or is this standard for the army? I guess my question is when should I expect my ratings and be out of the army?
I am a National Guard currently on ADOS. I keep getting conflicting information from PEBLO, Service Coordinator and my own research. I have over 20 years reserve time and 15 years active time, I am currently on orders and going through a Med board. I have completed exams and PEBLO said they are working on narrative summary. I was at 90% VA prior to IDES and anticipate that increasing to 100%. I have not been able to get a straight answer on how I will be out-processed and if I would qualify for immediate concurrent retirement for LOS or DOD plus VA. I was told I should be discharged through Active channels based off accumulation of Active time and currently being on ADOS, then I was told it would go through reserve channels. At...

First post* I was put in for MEB Nov 28th I had already done all of my exams besides one because I was already getting out as an ETS so I did a BDD Last one was completed on December 8th Exams sent to my PEBLO February 26th Peblo called me February 27th and said she was sending my exams to have my narsum written up. This has been the longest process so far of just waiting! Also how do you check your status for your claims? My BDD just completely disappeared and nothing is on the VA website now.
Hello i am a E-3 in the marine corps i've been in for a little over 2 years i have occipital neuralgia i've been dealing with migraines and headaches almost everyday since jan 5th 2023 as well as a torn disk in my neck and mental health problems i have no clue how the med process works or how the disability rating works like is there a way i can calculate how much ill be getting or the percentage and information would be helpful.
Question... I have had open heart surgery this past August 2023. The AZ Army National Guard is saying its non-duty because I had an aneurysm and a bicuspid heart valve after 19 years you'd think they would have caught it sooner. They say it's non-duty related. Which yes most likely. I had a stint and a heart valve replacement. What would be my chances of getting duty-related? I ask because I am short 8 months of a 20 retirement. If I do an early retirement I lose my health insurance. Tricare health. Not to mention it's considered a 15-year retirement. would it be worth fighting for 8 months? Trying to get any information or direction prior to my suspense date. Very Appreciative...
27 November 2023- Meb initiated 18 December 2023- IDES accepted 19 December 2023- peblo appointment 27 December 2023- submitted va claims 19 January 2024- first va appointment 6 February 2024- last va appointment 6 March 2024- 3947/5893 signed 11 March 2024- NARSUM sent to PEB 15 March 2024- unfit decision 25 March 2024- va claim closed. Awaiting peb decision on ratings. Just wanted to put my timeline because I get a lot of questions. Just remember every timeline is different. It feels like the process has taken forever but looking back it’s gone by quick.
