Now i'm out and got my first retirement statement.
Playing the waiting game. I went to VA to schedule some appointments but decided to hold off because my
VA id won't state the Tier Group associated with 90% just yet and my appointments will be treated as low priority until i
get my FINAL ratings approved. On the fence weather to use the retirement medical (Standard) or just go low priority VA.

Hopefully they are on track with the stated completion date.
Any insight appreciated.

If you're OEF or OIF vet, shouldn't cost anything at VA. Won't qualify for travel reimbursement yet, but there shouldn't be any co-pay.

Why wouldn't he qualify for travel reimbursement?

Not sure but i think he's right.....either ways it's no big deal as I'm not far from Mather VA anyways. I'll be getting my SC in hopefully a month or two. I'm not working so hopefully i can sign up for Low income which equals no co-pay.
I checked in and have a new patient orientation on the 1st. I was sort of holding my breath thinking i was going to get the
cold shoulder because i'm not technically service connected just yet....but Mather VA is awesome.
There already doing blood work and checking my prescriptions etc. Everyone is amazing nice much to my surprise.

Final ratings look like they should be in anytime now huh? April 18...... hopefully its August!!

Me personally have received reimbursement of 17$ after every trip to the VA, a Vet can either setup direct deposit or receive check in the mail

Yes April 18th, finally got some movement on ebennies with a estimated completion in August so keeping my fingers crossed!
I have a couple grants from the VA I've been approved for but can't use them until my ratings are final

Oh well ok then....i'll go back to enrollment/eligibility and fill out the paperwork.

Was your august timeline pretty close to an original stated time when the claim was recieved?
Mine is stating 7/31/13 to 9/04/13 Crossing fingers!!!

My official ratings haven't come done as of yet either but I get travel reimbursements after every VA appointment. 17$ to be exact! I only live 30 minutes away from my VA

Huh...not sure how you would be eligible for travel pay without your service-connection being established with official ratings. Interesting. Do you get round-trip travel reimbursement?

All I know is that the reimbursement payment is 17$ which is about right since i live about 20 minutes away from the VA hospital in NC

Okay...maybe you are updated as service-connected somehow in the system but just haven't received the actual Official Ratings Letter in the mail. Usually, veteran doesn't get travel without service-connected status or low income. But that's great you've been getting it! :)

Doubt it cause I'm still unable to get my VA ID card because my final rating aren't completed

Well, all veterans don't automatically qualify for travel reimbursement. I don't know your exact situation. I'm basing my posts off rules, regulations and law governing VA travel.

Who is eligible for travel?
  • Veterans rated 30% or more SC for travel relating to any condition
  • Veterans rated less than 30% for travel relating to their SC condition
  • Veterans receiving VA pension benefits for all conditions
  • Veterans with annual income below the maximum applicable annual rate of pension for all conditions
  • Veterans who can present clear evidence that they are unable to defray the cost of travel
  • Veterans traveling in relation to a Compensation and Pension (C&P) Examination
  • Certain veterans in certain emergency situations
  • Certain non-veterans when related to care of a veteran (attendants & donors)
  • Beneficiaries of other Federal Agencies (when authorized by that agency)
  • Allied Beneficiaries (when authorized by appropriate foreign government agency)
