I really believe that it's the VA rep that you get. I just kept calling back, and finally on day 9 they sent them. I really don't care who I piss off anymore because I'm sick and tired of waiting. The VA reps would tell me nothing has changed since the last time you called, sir... Then I continued to call back and the guy that FINALLY faxed me my ratings didn't even know he was allowed to fax them. He mailed a courtesy copy to me too. I picked them up from Staples faxing services for 8 dollars for 8 pages. Didn't even care, I would have paid 20 after waiting almost a year for them. But once I got them it was a sigh of relief to actually know what to expect. Like I said in my forum post, I have done all the foot work myself, and I have continued to do so. I like to be informed. The military made me very impatient since I've spent 8 years waiting on idiots of all ranks in the Marine Corps. My patience has run out.
So my update past the VA has been this.
I got my ratings, through contacting the VA numerous numerous times. I had finally got ahold of my PEBLO at the beginning of the month (November) when my VA ratings got sent back to the PEB. She told me "anyday now!" It has been almost an entire month. That means any day now? LOL. I recently called the PEB and back doored my PEBLO, again, because they really have no clue or really care what goes on, they are definitely just there to make a paycheck (when they are there like 3 days a week). Some LT picked up and was asking me if I have a PEBLO, I told him yea I definitely do but I'm tired of being misinformed. Anyways, the LT said the PEB is on a 30-40 day goal right now to get the finidings back to the PEBLOs. They then have 10 days to get them back to MMSR 4 to index them or whatever so your EAS can change. Right now they are giving the last day of Jan as new EAS's. I've had two buddys get that date and they are 2 weeks ahead of me. I'm requesting as soon as possible once my findings come back. I have a Master degree I'm starting on 9 Jan and I need to be out. Done with this. It has been a year.
HAH!!! You are Soooo right. I called again today to ask about a form I was filling out, but asked the question "I was mailed some items on the 17th, and I received them on Monday, yet my Ratings, that were mailed before them, haven't arrived yet. Can't I get a 2nd copy mailed to me?" to which she replied "What date are you referring to, sir?" And I said, "The 16th, they were mailed a day earlier, yet still have not arrived, and I have no idea why, but can't we call it 'lost' at this point?" to which she replied. "Yep, that's the dte I have as well. Well, I can FAX them to you right now if you'd like." And I said "Oh,yes, thank you so much. Let me get you the FAX number, if you can wait just 2 minutes." To which I requested one of my Sailors walking by to go get the FAX number like, yesterday. So, blah, blah, blah, and YES!! SUCCESS!! Finally got the answer. The Fax was 10 pages, and on pg 1 it states my uniformed service has found me UNFIT and request a rating from the VA. The next two pages showed my Overall Rating and expected compensation??? 90% Total and about $2K/mo. Wow!! About 40% higher than I thought. The next few pages listed ALL the items rated--I had 3x30%, 2x20%, and 8x10%, then about 10 more at 0% and only one was deemed not service connected. The VA found 3 more items during my exams they asked if I wanted to be rated, which I said yes, of course, and am working that issue now.
Anyway, yes, it's all about who the VA Rep is you speak to. I probably wouldn't call everyday, but after it's been over a week, I'd call and ask something similar to what I asked--can we call this one lost and may I request a re-mail-out of my ratings?? You might get lucky and get one who will FAX it out like I did. So yeah, this is a big deal, kinda, and appeal to their human side. They'd want to know as well. I don't understand all the hullaballoo over letting us know what we were rated by the VA.
Thanks, Cobra, again...time to update my sig!
