PEB timeline 2017

How do you know the date you were found unfit?
I called my peblo until she answered and asked her if there was a change and she said no at first and then 2 weeks later I called again and she told me I was found unfit 2 weeks ago (literally the day I called her)

So, I called the VA and the lady I talked to said my claim is in the final review, said that she could see there was a proposed rating. Trying not to get my hopes up. But does this mean I'm almost done? Anybody have a timeline once that happens. This process is sucking the life out of me. Anything helps. Thanks guys.

When did they complete your VA claims?
I'm awaiting on my unfit memo and my ratings right now the unknown is telling me!

I'm sorry, but it doesn't necessarily mean that you are close to being done. It's hit or miss. I know some soldiers that went quick and there are some like me whose ratings were completed back in February and there is no sign of a DA Form 199 (PEB Findings) in sight. Hopefully, you'll be one of the fast ones. Either way, try to avoid getting your hopes up. It will save you some heartache down the line if something doesn't go the way it should.

So I looked at Vets.gov today and it says my claim is complete. I called my peblo and she said that just means they are sending it to the PEB to confirm the rating. However, she's been wrong about every timeline she has gave me. So I'm just wondering what to expect from here. She said it'll be 2-3 weeks before they accept it at the PEB. Any truth to this? And is there a way to see my proposed ratings that they sent to the PEB? Thanks for the incoming advice.

Depends on how often your service does the IPEB meetings to be honest.

On MOL my case was accepted by the PEB May 18th, 2017. Guess I'm in for a long road still... was supposed to EAS August 26th, 2017...

Maybe, maybe not

Mine was at the PEB for 7 days
At the VA for ratings for 6
Took 7 to get the ratings approved
and then less than 2 days to get them back to me

What base are you stationed at? and how complicated of a case would you say you had?

I'm at Scott AFB. My case is/was fairly complicated for the unfitting condition, but I only had a handful of other conditions.

Well also, I keep all my ducks in a tight little row. I already know what forms and everything will need to be filled out. I have my answers ready for all of them so I can just shoot them out.

Sad part is, now I'm in the really horrible part of the process, getting the OAC to help me. Plus, they can request extensions and I found out at the USAF OAC they have all new military lawyers so I do not expect this phase to be over quickly.

Call your MSC. If your claim has been closed, he/she will be able to see it and get you a copy. Your PEBLO doesn't have access to the VA systems and won't see anything until the PEB sends their findings.

Disclaimer: I've seen on these forums a lot where people say their MSC won't cough up proposed ratings. I'm not sure why though. Mine printed them out for me the day after my claim closed.

Just see your Career Planner for a Medical Extension if your EAS gets close and you're not getting anything back from the PEB. If you get ratings and accept MMSR-4 will adjust your EAS to within 60-90 days.

They used to involuntarily med hold Marines, but know they make you do an extension for LIMDU or PEB anticipated past EAS.

Based on what you said, I think you'll have to do this extension.

You should be using the NAVMC 321M form for Medical Extension if the Career Planner isn't aware of the change.

The NAVMC 321M form is available at: https://navalforms.documentservices.dla.mil/formsDir/_NAVMC_321M_15675.pdf

burressboy81,
I'm also going through a medical board on Camp Lejeune. I sent my package to V.A. on May 2 but my MOL stated the PEB accepted it on the 11th. Shortly after, they "9'd" out my EAS while I was in the process of checking out of everywhere. They told me when the PEB accepts your full package, they MMSR-4 is now responsible for your EAS. I would've been on terminal this Monday, but I can't leave the Marine Corps until I get something back regardless of my previous EAS. That's what they told me when I just wanted to leave. So you should be good if you're worried of a close EAS. I would still talk to the Career counselor to verify. No one cares about your PEB more than you. I learned that with a crappy PEBLO.

When you say 9'd do you mean on MOL? My eas still shows the same on MOL but my duty code is V status.

Yea that's right. My EAS was showing 20170710 and now it shows 9999999. My duty limit is "Y/PEB CASE ACCEPTED ". I had the V until a few weeks ago.
