LA AFB Timeline (DCMA San Diego location)

It is
That's great! I'm happy for you. Must feel really good to be done with this whole convoluted process.
it is! I'll message you later with how they rated my knee.

Hey, how did you "request" your separation date? When you signed your 356 with your PEBLO or through your MPF? Thanks, and congrats!

With my PEBLO. He submitted it to AFPC for approval.

So I will mention that my PEBLO said as long as you request the separation 30 days out then AFPC will approve your date, from what he has seen. He said he usually just adds a note to it and says that the person is selling back leave or something. He did say that it needed to be a few days before the end of the month for DFAS and VA...Dont know if that is a hard fast rule but he really only talked to me about 27 Oct and like 27 Nov as being my separation dates. I just wanted to try and get my VA stuff finalized around the beginning of the new year because I am looking at moving and want to take advantage of the property tax break.

Oh on another note...MPF opened my outprocessing checklist without my orders when I asked them, which was helpful because over half the stuff on there is already checked off after only a day. Most of it I dont need orders for so it helps with outprocessing quicker.

Oh nice, good idea. And thanks for the heads up about the date of separation. Best of luck!

What a great turn of events for you! I am hoping that my timeline plays out in a similar fashion to yours. Hoping to get called in by the PEBLO next week! OCT or NOV sep/ret would be ideal as well!

Ok, eBenefits keeps shifting the estimated completion date to the right. My MSC left me a voicemail saying that it may be another month before I get my ratings. My PEBLO told me it usually only takes 15 days to get them back once they hit DRAS which should be today or tomorrow. This uncertainty is driving me nuts!

In following everyone else's timeline, my ratings should be back today, but I'm smart enough to know these things never go how I think they will.

Any insight on the eBenefits date shifting? Please tell me this is a good sign that I'll have my ratings soon. (wanting to pull my hair out right now...need to breath!)

If there is one thing I learned, it's that eBenefits was not a way to track the progress of my case.

It shows that your case is moving, but that's as much as I would rely on ebenefits.

eBenefits at Vets.gov shows my case closed today, and that a decision letter was mailed out.

Give it like a week and you will prolly have that email saying your PEBLO has your ratings.

Thanks! It feels good to have things moving again! I'm guessing I'll get a 28 Dec out date.

Great! It is making its way back to AFPC for them to accept/apply the VA's rating to your unfitting condition(s), decide on sep vs ret and send the decision back to your PEBLO via a AF356. For me, this was the hardest part of the wait because I knew the VA had made their decision on what I should be rated at, but just hold on. It seems longer than it really is.

If you don't get a call from the PEBLO in a little over 2 weeks, I'd be surprised a bit. Once 7-10 days pass, however, and you still do not hear from the PEBLO you can go onto the eBenefits site , start up a chat via the chat function on the website and request that a copy of the VA results be faxed to you on the spot. If you don't have access to a fax machine you can request that the results be mailed directly to your home address. The VA will then mail their portion straight to you. The only catch to this method is...by the time you get the proposed ratings in the mail from the VA, it's more than likely your PEBLO will have contacted you to brief you the full DoD and VA results.

Hoping for the best!

This is the hard part, but thank you so much for this post. It helps to have the guidance on what to expect next. I emailed my MSC to see if he could give me some insight on the rating. Fingers crossed he gets back to me soon. I've already notified my commander and supervisor that they have very limited time with me actually doing a full workload.

Now to play the waiting game...

No problem! I hope to hear that you got some good news soon!

You'd think! I get shut down when they realize that they are proposed ratings. Any suggestions other than waiting for PEBLO?

Asking your MSC is really the only option you have.

Well, I called my PEBLO last week, and she has not received anything yet. She is on leave this week so I took your advice to request a faxed copy through chat. They are making me submit a FOIA request.
