TDRL Reevaluation Frequency

What is going on with the TDRL periodic reevals that are supposed to be conducted IAW law? I've heard of people exceeding their 5 year limit with no re evals and having to go through BCMR red tape just to get back in the IDES system.

Here's my timeline:
AUG 2014- Initial placement onto TDRL PTSD 70/70% DoD/VA
SEP 2015- Approved for SSDI for PTSD
OCT 2015- VA C&P reeval for PTSD, proposed reduction to 30%.
DEC 2015- Appealed VA proposed reduction.
OCT 2017- VA C&P reeval for PTSD, reclassified as unspecified anxiety disorder, 70%
MAR 2018- SSDI Continuing Disability Review, in progress.

I have not had a single TDRL reeval done. I have kept my address current.

Update.

SSDI Continuing Disability Review returned a favorable continuation. I will be receiving SSDI benefits beyond my 5 year limit on TDRL.

I currently have just under 17 months remaining on TDRL. I have not had a single reevaluation. Should I reach out to PERS-954? I don't want to have to go through more than one TDRL reeval. It's just too much uncertainty, and only makes my level of anxiety go through the roof.

You should definitely call PERS. You are over their recommended time.

Also, if you were discharged in 2017, 2018 and into the future, it is now 3 years TDRL compared to 5 before.

LTJG- I agree with advice given. It seems as if "they" conveniently forget about some and re-evaluate other's before their first year is in fact even up! Personally, I know a veteran this happened to, and was in fact severely "harangued" by a "clerk" at local Veterans clinic in Mobile, AL when said clerk should have not even know about any such re-evaluation, what so ever- this was all prior MHV secure messaging- by the way! Also, this veterans US DVA providers, at time, at MOPC had told him they had numerous veterans- "cut-off" but not evaluated well after 5-years.... and were in fact in so bad a shape, their families etc.. had to support them in total.....

Yet again, as I have numerous other's and at risk of getting "admonished" here, would in fact recommend you look into possible legal representation if in fact you are over the 5-year TDRL timeline- in addition to the above!!!!

LTJG- hope this assist's you in some way.....

I took the advice and reached out to Millington. A very nice officer said she didn't know how it happened, but I should have been reevaluated by now. Then she cc:ed my TDRL coordinator and told me if I have not been contacted next week, then I could personally email her.

That was a little better than I thought it would go. The last time I called PERS in early 2015 and spoke with a man, I said that I needed to be reevaluated at my six month mark IAW the 4.129 provision. He said "That's not going to happen." I guess sequestration might have caused funding issues. Who knows.

The one concern that I still have is being reevaluated for TDRL but not getting a final adjudication (and having to do it again next year). I have had to go through periodic reevaluations for C&P, SSDI, VA Caregiver (which was so frequently intrusive, my wife and I decided to drop that program). I am sure many of you who have to go through a lot of psychological disability evals know how it feels. Sometimes it can cause more anxiety than I can handle.

LTJG- dropped Caregiver Program same issues, and wish you best, guy I know in above post TDRL experience was nothing, like yours thus far, I.e. nothing way it should.....

Best of luck.....

10 April 2018- Received notification to schedule periodic physical examination (PPE) for a TDRL reevaluation.

Called Tripler. PEBLO is on leave. Will check back at end of week. Here we go again... as Samuel L. Jackson said in Jurassic Park, 'Hold on to your butts."

LTJG- all have to say is LOL LOL, :):eek: and "feel" for you.......????????? Once again I would suggest......
