Have any of you all talked to Army Physical Disabiity Agency and did they actuall say how long it would take you all to get orders. I spoke with then on the 29th of August they tod me that my orders were finished and they would be mailed out the following week. Which they were mailed out on the 6th or 7th of September i found this out after calling them back on September the 16th. So i call them back on Septber 23 they assured me that they had been mailed. Here it is today October 3. Did it take any of you all this long to receive orders.

Air Force said the same thing. Told me my orders were mailed to my residence on Aug 29th and new DD214 was mailed on Sept 4th. Have not received anything via mail. However, all my updated orders, DD214, etc were available on Milconnect.com a couple of weeks ago.

I just called the office again and they swear it was mailed on the 6th to the correct address i dont know whats is going on. I bet that he takes them to a mail room in return they take them to another mail room and another and another until they finally make to the receipment.

My case was sent to DEfAS April 2018. When the bcmr followed up with them DEFAS claimed to have been confused and thought i sent then the BCMR packet so they closed it. Bcmr re-sent the packey and my case was supposedly reopened June/July timeframe....DEFAS stalled again.... because a supervisor did not agree with the orders they recieved from the BCMR....i am not sure who is the head of the agency at DEFAS but i would think all services are processed through this agency...When i spoke to the bcmr ( i was originally) told “good luck with DEFAS”. So many DoD agency are failing in this process...and cases Are not processed in a timely matter..does anyone have e-mail access the name of the individual running DEFAS?

If you are speaking of DFAS-Cleveland, which processes retired pay...

Director, Retired Pay (last I heard): Jeff Presley

Director, DFAS-Cleveland: Robert Edwards

I will offer that it is next to impossible to speak to either on the phone. I have used letters with success.

I do not have their e-mail addresses.

Ron

DFAS: Defense Finance and Accountng Service (not DEFAS)

The mailing address for DFAS—Cleveland is in INDIANAPOLIS. Strange but true. It used to be in London, KY.

I used be to part of that tribe, but I retired from Army in 1991. I know Edwards from Heidelberg, Germany in 1988-1989.
Most of the people I knew there have retired for a second time.

Good luck,
Ron

Hey Ron, thanks for responding and the correction re: DFAS . I no longer have access to global...perhaps someone on this site does..and can help find the email for Hess.....thanks again..

After talking with Army Physical Disabiity Agency yesterday to see why i have not gotten my orders since they were mailed out September 6. Decided to call DFAS somehow they have received my orders and received them September the 8th hmmmmmm. Was told by them that they have 30 days after receiving orders from the disability agency they only have 30 days to create an account. So i guess DFAS will have their part complete before i even get my paperwork.......

Just out of curiosity (maybe you answered this already) did you look on milconnect in the DPRIS and see if your orders posted their? Still have not received my orders via mail either, but they were posted on DPRIS.

I have access to the global. I found a William Hess that I think is the same person you are talking about but he is listed as an "Attorney Advisor" for DFAS:

EVERYONE! my husband just got off with DFAS. He actually spoke to someone who was a Veteran and clearly wants to help us and hates them....

He told Doug there is NO reason why none of our accounts have been set up. It is a key stroke process that takes a short time. He said that section is suppose to have all new accounts setup within 30 days or less, but they are known to drag it out anywhere from 6 months to over a year.....He said they have VERY BAD ATTITUDES in this section.....He said from everything he could see on my husbands account there is not one reason it has not been set up. Doug is a current GS worker and received V.A compensation. So literally a key stroke situation...He said he would send up another ticket, but as the rest do not expect a response....He said they never respond. (Doug has had 4 sent up, all remain unanswered)

He advised NOT to wait. Doug is getting email addresses now for Directors and higher @ both DFAS locations. Maybe if everyone who's packets have been sitting around more than 30 days all contact DFAS at the same time and we all CC our congressmen/women something will move in our favor. I think that is going to be the best route. What does everyone think? I will have address's by tomorrow and phone numbers if we can get them too.

Thanks Tinker, Mack & Ron... Great job really appreciate your help and persistance. I would love to send an e-mail to higher and my Senator. I have been waiting for my case to set up since April 2018. After 3 months of run around by DFAS employees i had a attny sent a demand letter to DFAS...June 2018..DFAS has simply ignored the demand and to date nothing has happened...In a previous note at this site i explained this story( so do not want to go into that again). I will get an e-mail to my Senator and cc Hess. Does anyone have e-mails addresses to other higher at Dfas...

Ocean, I am in the process of gathering all the emails. I do not believe HESS is anyone we need to contact. As he is THEIR attorney. he does not give two shits about us or our cases.

Perhaps you can contact them the old fashioned way:

Ron, these email address's are not public knowledge. I believe that emailing them while CCing our Reps/congressmen will scare them.

This is just an example of what my husband is working on. You may use it or edit it to write up your own email. Below are the email addresses and names of people we thought might be high enough up that they will get to the bottom of this. My husband is sending his out tomorrow and CC our state Rep and our congresswoman. We are also filing a congressional next week. We are all for being patient, however, if any of us owed them even a penny, they would take it and take it fast before we ever knew what hit us! As my husband stated in his email, some of you have been waiting over 6 months with no answers no nothing. All of you were given the shaft 10 to 11 years ago or longer....This is not fair or right. (sorry I just get so angry)

Sir/Ma'am,
I am a recent retiree due to a DoD PDBR and cannot seem to find out why it is taking so long to get my retired pay account established. My retirement date is 17 February 2007 and my paperwork was submitted in (????DTG). During my initial call to DFAS to check the receipt of my packet, I was informed that it could take 30-90 days for the account to be established but that I could call anytime to check on the status. I have spoken to DFAS several times between 12 September and the date of this email but am unable to get a straight answer as to when it will be complete.

During a call on 26th of September, I was told that my file was in new accounts but 11 September was the last time it showed any updates/action. The agent was unsure about where my account was in the process so she initiated an inquiry and told me to call back in 7 days. On 4 October I called and there was still no information as to a status. The agent told me that is was really a simple process and didn't know why it was taking so long. The agent created a "log" and told me the processing department had 3 days to respond but doubted I would hear anything back. The agent left me with the impression that major problems exist within with "that department" and getting them to reply or do their job was "highly unlikely".

I am not the only one with this issue. There are innumerable other Vets who are getting the same push back and told that it may take up to 6 months; the sad fact is some have been waiting over 6 months already. Granted my case is different than theirs; I still have severance recoupment and my VA pay will have to be audited before any back pay is issued.

I would like to know why it' taking so long to create an account when I am already a DoD employee. I belong to a forum dedicated to the post PDBR and this is the number one issue of discussion. It appears that this may be an issue for us to take to our Congressional Reps.
