Fort Campbell - My MEB Timeline

Just curious, I'd like to know how long it took for some of y'all to get your unfit status back from the time they sent your packet off to San Antonio.
My PEBLO told me about 10 days, so I expect to hear back by the end of this week or next week.

I wouldn't know, I was never informed of anything from the PEB I presume I was deemed unfit because we are currently waiting on VA Ratings.

I received my unfit memo about 10 days after my packet was submitted to the PEB. The memo was dated 3 days after my packet was submitted.

yea, I got mine a little more than 4 months later because my PEBLO "forgot" to send it to me.

here's an update:

6 March - MEB Evaluation/Initial Appointment
11 March - Referral
18 March - VA Claims
22 April - Final C&P exam complete
24 April - Appointment for dictation
26 April - met with PEBLO to sign paperwork, given 5 days to look over paperwork
1 May - met with paralegal to go over packet, requested extension to set up appointment with attorney to go over discrepancies in the packet
6 May - appointment with attorney\
15 May - appointment with attorney to request IMR
28 May - packet sent off to San Antonio
5 June - received unfit status

3 JUL (TODAY) - received my ratings! 20% from Army, 80% from VA

anyone know how long now until i get my 199?

and who's up to speed and fluent on the calculations?
I understand the 2 x (2804.40) x 5.5 = 30,848.40. So the 80% I'm getting from VA gets deducted? or? I don't grasp that part.

So you should receive your 199 soon, an actual date I couldn't give you it will be dependent on your PEBLO receiving it from the IPEB themselves.

As far as your severance goes, the calculation will be given to you at finance but yes, you can estimate you will roughly receive that but if you are at 5.5 it should round to 6.

So the double dipping law states that we cannot receive the severance (given to you because of the injury) and VA compensation for the same injury, therefore if you elect to receive VA Compensation for your injuries, then you will have to pay back the severance to the VA and they can do this by deducting from your compensation payments, or stopping them until it is recouped entirely. I believe the most common way is to deduct the % for the injury from the payment themselves.

Yeah I signed my 199 the day I heard back about my proposed ratings.
Today I have an appointment with my VA rep for an outbrief! I see the light at the end of the tunnel finally!

Yeah, the va has had a really bad backlogged due to them switching some raters to the retired side and having to train new ones. They told me that its starting to pick back up but if you see in your ides dashboard it has “52” average completion time. It supposed to have been two weeks go figure...
My packet is from fort Campbell but MAN OH MAN! My PEBLO said he sent it up Mid Sept and I still don’t have my unfit memo wth

I’ve been waiting since about Early/Mid September here at Campbell since my packet got sent up and I still have no memo or nothing

Ask the peblo for an update, usually they have to wait for the VA for their findings and then usually DOD Goes along with what the VA said and will tell you what’s unfitting. The longest wait is usually the VA and if you appeal. The unfit memo is usally a quick turn around (about a week) it’s the VA side that takes the most time good luck

I’m at Ft. Campbell. My PCM referred me to IDES on Saturday (weird, I know, but that’s when she finished up her charting and actually clicked the “submit” button.) When should I expect to be contacted by someone from the IDES office to get my MEB started?

Your profile has to get signed off by a few people before its sent to IDES. Took me 16 days from the time my PCM submitted P3 and a call from my PEBLO.

Thanks! Who does it have to get signed off by? Just curious about the process

There is a local "board" that approves P3 profiles at each installation.

What if I don’t have a P3? I just have a 90 day profile. I was told my profile would be changed to permanent once I was started the IDES process. Did I get some bad info?

No. When your PCM sent up your profile she sent it to the board to make it a P3. Then since its a P3 it will get referred to IDES for a MEB. Just because you have a P3 does not mean you can't be in the Army. That's what the MEB/PEB determines.

My process has gone a little differently it seems. My psychiatrist wrote me a 90 day profile saying I’m non-deployable. Then he called my PCM, told her I’d met MRDP, and that he recommends she refer me to IDES. So she placed the referral

It all ends up the same way. Give it a little for IDES to call you. Took them 2 weeks to get hold of me. This process cannot be rushed by the Soldier, sadly.
