I started going through the forum and my head started to hurt from so much information.

After almost 2 1/2 years my PDBR is complete! I was in the Air Force and my medical separation was changed to medical retirement of 30%.

I have many questions, but I am trying to figure out how this all impacts me. Is there a number I can call for the Air Force so I can have some of my questions answered? I tried to type them for the forum but it all became a jumble and did not make sense.

Thanks,
Brandon

Some of the most important benefits are TRICARE and retired pay.

I should point out that your retired pay will be reduced by the amount of VA compensation you receive, if any.

You also will receive a retiree ID card.

Perhaps someone else can provide a telephone number.

Congrats on your retirement! I too was AF and just went through this entire process last year. Look at some of my threads and you can see the timelines we went through. Most of your questions/support will probably be answered here in these forums.

Thanks. I reviewed your threads and found I had read them at some point. They did help.

Thank you. Your posts have helped me make some sense of what is going on. I was originally separated with a 10% rating with severance pay. The VA after reviewing my medical records changed it to combined 30%. The board changed the 10% I was discharged with to 30% with retirement. The amount of money I get is important to me but the benefits are more important. I would like to get a nice chunk of money but I doubt that will happen.

If I think too much it starts to give me a headache. I wish everything would just be over finally but then I remember this is government and nothing is ever fast. I am using my favorite motto from the military a lot, "Hurry up and Wait!"

“Hurry up and wait” goes back decades. I first heard it in 1966 when I was drafted.

My favorite in the Army, “Be all you can be.”

I hope things work in your favor...

Ron
