Hello all! My EAS was 20190330 and I was wondering when is an accurate time frame to be seeing my Severance Pay and sold leave in my account? I can’t find a timeline anywhere and it would just be nice to know. Thank you :)

Following because I am wondering the same. My separation date was 28 March

How long did it end up taking?

My next pay check, not the 30th that I got separated on, but the 15th I got my severance pay and then towards the end of April I got my VA payments

Do you get va payments or did they withhold all of your va pay to pay back the severance
I receive my full payments, they’ll let you know whether or not they’re going to hold anything back to pay back your severance and if they do they only take a percentage of your payment not the whole thing

Ok thanks I called the va today and the lady said they take all of it to payback the severance but also said I won’t know until I get my finalized va letter

When you receive severance pay the DoD will take a percentage of your VA payments until the severance pay is payed off.
Ex. I'm receiving a severance pay for right shoulder instability/ labral tear, that was rated at 20% by the DoD. The VA rated this injury as well and you are not able to receive disability for the same injury twice. My VA percentage is 90% so I would be receiving roughly 1800 a month. However, due to the severance pay they will take the 20% from those payments and I will be receiving roughly 1400 a month until the severance pay is payed off. Hopefully this makes sense and helps ease your mind.

If your injury is combat related or combat training related your VA percentage will not (should not) be subtracted by your severance pay DoD percentage.
