Referred Condition(s)

I was referred for MDD and GAD. When I met with my MSC last week and set up my C&P exams, she said I was only referred for MDD. I have a copy of the referral and know this isn't true. My MSC and PEBLO are acting like it's not big deal because I will just claim GAD separately. Is this accurate? Does having it as a referred condition make a difference? Do I have a better chance to receive a higher rating on the DOD side if I have multiple referred conditions as opposed to just one, or will it all work out the same in the end?

This happened to me as well. I am currently trying to get a condition added. I am doing an IMR right now and hope they add it in.

So it does make a difference?

Is this something my PEBLO can fix? She’s the one arguing with me, telling me I was only referred for MDD. There’s NO QUESTION though. I have the referral in my hand and it has two separate conditions on it.

I am not exactly sure. I would contact your pcm and see what you were referred for.
I don’t need to do that. I can see my referral. I have a copy of my medical records. Thank you though!

During my MEB, my referred conditions were listed on my commander counseling statement. My first statement only listed my knee issues. My PEBLO/ MSC both said that if it didn’t list all of your unfitting conditions, to include PTSD. DOD would not consider them unfitting, because your commander is basically saying the condition doesn’t have an impact on your soldiering.

Thank you for that! Very helpful and good to know. My commander wrote in her statement that there’s nothing wrong with me and that I shouldn’t be in the IDES process, so it’s a strong possibility that the same thing happened to me.

I basically wrote up my issues per my profile on the counseling statement, my commander and battalion commander agreed and signed. That’s not the way it should work but that what happened.

Your welcome
