Kinda weird that a UK based newspaper would be interested and or would head this up.

I would think twice before entering personal info to off shore site.

Dear Xeno:

I guess I'm a little lost here.

The NAUS is the National Association For Uniformed Services based in the USA in Springfield, Virginia. They have a Political Action Committee (PAC) on the Hill that is supposed to represent the economic interests and perspectives of US servicemembers - both active and retired - to our elected representatives as they consider all legisilation pending before them that may have impacts on Americans like us.

Are you saying this particular site mentioned by Alty may be a bogus web site - phishing perhaps? A copy cat?

In any event, I think the vote has already gone down and it went up in flames again.

I'm unclear as to where this particular piece of legislation is standing these days.

If you know the current status of this bill, or other bills that deal with Concurrent Receipt issues, and where we can legitimately post our support of this legislation, please kindly direct us to a web site that will allow us to contact our elected representatives through this medium with a letter of support.

Hope it's not too late.

v/r,
nwlivewire

I thought this had passed the House, but not the Senate--as referenced in the letter. I'll do a little more research when I get the time.

This webpage is the NAUS webpage powered by capwiz. It is built to send emails to your representatives. It does work and you will get a reciept of email from your representative. I am not really sure what xeno is talking about. But if you do not feel comfortable giving your info just copy and paste the letter and mail it the old fashion way.

Look who owns CAPWIZ.COM (discover for your self).

The owner of the domain is what I listed. It's an off shore site.

I'ts kinda weird that NAUS would run there server overseas? Or is it kinda weird that an overseas company has US political involvement?

If your here to defend/explain for them. Then explain why the web site (capwiz.com) is owned by a British news paper agency and all the servers are located there also?

Or at a minimum, tell me why you trust a foreign company (and it's servers) to do this for you or to be your "voice in the government".

Just something to think about when filling that information on THEIR web site.

They are trust worthy you may have some trust issues. Plenty of organizations use this powerful tool. but like i said if you dont want to use there automated email system just copy and paste the message, print it and send it to your senators. The bill is currently stalled due to some unemployment benefits issues so our voice needs to be heard. For all of you that need more info on the tool and here is a link to there "about us page." I really dont want to argue about the trustworthiness of a webpage because we would be wasting our time instead speaking to our reps to actually represent us. Everyone please by all means do your research and then contact your reps about this bill by the means you TRUST the most.

I’m not here to take personal shots at people (or receive them), nor am I here to argue about facts. I’m here to let people know what looks like an innocent link, might not be so innocent. Since this thread has resorted to taking personal shots, and straying from the subject, I’m locking it.
