Hi! I have PTSD and chronic migraines. I had a question regarding a comment you made about counseling. You stated you have follow-ups about every 2-6 weeks but not counseling. If you don't mind my asking, what are the follow-ups for then? I ask because I've been in counseling for about 3 years...
That's wonderful news! Hopefully what she recommends ends up being their final decision - one less thing to worry about. If you are updated to PDRL, does that mean you'll in turn be P&T? If not, how does THAT work? Any insight from those with more intel?
Thanks everyone for your input/insight - this really helps. That said, how do I find whether or not the VA or DoD rated a condition as temporary? I've looked through the final packet that was mailed to me and it doesn't say one way or another.
Good Day All - I have my first TDRL re-eval coming up next month and I'm not sure what I should do/know going into this - I'm quite nervous. A few questions I have:
Are they re-evaling all of my claimed conditions or just my referred conditions?
What are one's chances of being either separated...
Congratz Wally3430 - That's awesome! For your reeval, how do the percentages work? Are they only reconsidered on the DoD side or does the VA also reconsider what they awarded you initially?
How did the re-eval go? Do you think you had a better follow-up with the civilian provider than with a military one? I ask because I'm coming up on my first re-eval.
Does anyone know how long the VA can string someone along with reevaluations? I was just placed on TDRL and have a reeval scheduled with the VA in 2021. Just curious.
Do you only get VA & DoD payment if you're placed on PDRL or do those on TDRL get this benefit as well? I was in a bit over 13 years but have only received payment from VA and was told because I do not have 20 years of service, I'm not to receive payment from DoD (I'm TDRL).
I too was MEB'd for MH reasons and I submitted a request for an impartial review as well as a separate appeal. From start to finish it took me nearly a year to complete. See my timeline for specifics. Like @chaplaincharli said, MH reasons don't necessarily give cause for a faster process.
Because I am not a physician and have not sat on a MedBoard, I cannot say for sure. All I know is my PEBLO explained to me the reason the board decided to list that as a separate unfit condition for me was because of the amount of work I was missing and how often I would get my migraines (an...
It's possible if you consistently miss work as a result of them but it's hard to tell. It really comes down to how your NARSUM is written for each referred condition.
My migraines were found to be unfitting and I'm AF. It depends on the severity and frequency of your migraines that will determine whether or not they're fitting. Also, my migraines are a symptom of my PTSD but was still listed as it's own unfitting condition, so it CAN be done.
Thank You for the follow-up. That said, am I to undertand if you are placed on PDRL you are able to receive DoD AND VA compensation? I thought it was only one or the other for those of us that did not reach the 20-year mark (I'm at 13 years AD time).
