IPEB said no 0 percent but VA says 70%

PittBull, Just wanted to let you know that the Army is supposed to rate you according to the VASRD. However they don't seem to know that. My husband is in the National Guard and has a 100% rating from the VA. His IPEB came back that he was Fit for Duty. He only has 10 years total in and so...

IU (Individual Unemployability) does put you at the pay scale of 100%. It means that if you get a rating of less than 100% from the VA but you are deemed not able to work then you will get paid at the 100% level. You are correct about the amount although it is a little higher with dependents...

    Everyone should really read this.

If you do get IU (Individual Unemployability) then you will not be able to work. The VA will cross check with the IRS to see if you have earned any money. You should be hoping for Permanent and Total because you can still work with that rating. Best of Luck, damagedgoods

    LOD to MEB/PEB

Welcome to the Forum! I am glad to hear that you didn't sign the paperwork. I was also asked to sign a Non-duty Related medical discharge form so they could kick me out without an MEB/PEB. I did not sign and have since started the MEB process. Best of luck with your case. This website has...

When should I get a lawyer for the MEB/PEB process?

Dear Jason, Thank you for your response. We do want to get a lawyer but do not know where to find one. My husband is in the National Guard in Illinois, the MEB is being done in Kentucky and the PEB is at Ft. Lewis, Washington. Where can we find a competent lawyer? What questions should we be...

When should I get a lawyer for the MEB/PEB process?

My husband has recently started the MEB process and we are wondering at what point would it be best to get a lawyer? My husband already has a VA rating of 100%, however everyone in the MEB process has told us to expect a rating of 10-20%. Thanks, damagedgoods
