    Denied Unemployment; SSDI? Individual Unemployability

I didn't really discuss my medical issues with the employer. The pay was per hour and I guess that I was just hoping that I wouldn't have too many migraines. I was wrong to the point that I missed so much work, it took more money in gas than what I would make working. In regards to the voc...

    DoD Retirement Amount?

I'll definitely start getting my paperwork together and head over. I'll find my closest office and submit a request. Thanks for the advice.

    DoD Retirement Amount?

I have PTSD (30% VA) and migraines (30% DoD/VA). When I did my C&P exams, I told the psych doc about the deployment and how it bears on me now. The docs know that I did not have migraines before Iraq and that my first one was while in Iraq and have had them ever since. I guess I naively assumed...

    Question about possible adsep....

Definitely read that thread that Mike linked for you! If there is one thing I've learned from over 15 years of active duty and a subsequent med board all the while being under a microscope by the unit leadership it's that you are your own advocate. Spend time on this site and learn about your...

    Denied Unemployment; SSDI? Individual Unemployability

A little background: Retired with a rating of 30% DoD / 90% VA last March. I went through several jobs while on terminal leave and after that never held up due to the same medical conditions that got me med boarded out of active duty. I applied for Unemployment but was denied because my doc here...

Advice while waiting on a hearing??

Yeah, talk to your attorney…and your family. I'm in the same situation in that I am waiting for a SSDI hearing, so please keep us posted as to your decision and how it turns out.

    Change in eBenefits.

Are you in the IDES? If so, eBenefits is very unreliable just as others have stated. Are you Army or do you have Army Knowledge Online? As I was getting out (March of this year) the My MEB/PEB section was getting upgraded and was rather spot on in terms of when the next step was completed. I...

    DoD Retirement Amount?

Thanks for the help all. I took everyone's advice, figured it out, then checked DFAS the next day just to see that it was updated finally. Good thing is that I got my finalized ratings back from the VA and should start getting paid on the beginning of May. We'll see how that goes though :)...

    DoD Retirement Amount?

Thanks for the reply. My DoD rating was 30%. Can you point me in the direction to where I can find what my high-3 base pay would be? I found a few calculators in DFAS but they start at 20yrs. I had just over 15. Now to face my arch nemesis…MATH!

    DoD Retirement Amount?

I was recently medically retired (21Mar14) permanently and understand that I am to receive DoD retirement pay before the VA disability (90%). I was in for 15yrs and 5 months. I have, however, not seen an estimation of what amount this pay is supposed to be. Does anyone have the formula or a...

    Results are in...

Well, gentlemen, you've given me some stuff to think about. To answer your question and to expand a little on my situation, I have just over 15 yrs TIS and was placed on TDRL. It would be hard at this point to prove combat related illnesses in any of my conditions (even though I went to Iraq as...

    VARR time frame

@PsychOfficer ... I was just wondering if you've heard anything back on your VARR and if you could give me some advice. I just got my ratings back and my legal guy up in Lewis is recommending I to the VARR. We are fairly confident that the 30% for my DoD rated condition can get bumped up to...

I see your point. I am really not in too much of a hostile work environment, unless you count TRADOC as hostile. I am under the impression, and others have told me, that it is better to wait to get out and that if I have them look at all of the evidence once out, it is not considered a "new"...

    Results are in...

Well, I got my 199 back from the PEB and got 30% DoD and 90% VA. Referred condition was migraines. I'm rather happy with the ratings overall. I was shooting for 50% for migraines. My MEB legal counsel said that I have a good case for a VARR, however, it may add up to 6 months to the process...
