Beginning of VA benefits (monthly pay)

Thanks Ron. Went through. I am good to go! So I assume benefits always pay at the end of the month? I separated 28 Sept, and therefore began accruing benefits at the beginning of OCT to end of OCT. Received payment like you said at the end of Oct. Now we are heading to a new month in NOV...

Beginning of VA benefits (monthly pay)

Began my claims with the IDES process, where I was rated at 100%. Officially separated from service end of Sept. I actually received my letter of benefits and final ratings pretty quick, about mid Oct. My question is when I can expect to begin receiving pay. I know it goes back retroactively...

V3/V4 Code Severance and Taxes - Successful Appeal

I also have no recoupement on my severance. However, I just received all $$ and taxes were indeed withheld. I likely am in somewhat of a similar ball park as you are. My severance is not as much as yours, but it is close. I am completing my letter and documents needed for taxes to be given...

When will I receive final pay/severance?

Whole kit'n caboodle. 10 days of leave buyout, last two weeks of pay, and all severance (minus taxes)

    Severance Pay tax info

Thank you. I have the letter. I just need to finish it and submit. I just barely received my severance. To be honest, I first want to know the exact amount they took. I mean, I assume that taxes were paid because I am short approx. 20% of that I should be owed. But shouldn't DFAS give us...

    Severance Pay tax info

Wow! Three weeks. I am in the same boat. Just got severance and now I need to submit the tax info. Hopefully mine is just as quick.

When will I receive final pay/severance?

So I received mine right on my last day of AD. I hadn't actually even officially separated. Is this weird? I also received it all in one lump sum as far as I can tell. I need to check on mypay and report back. But the amount seems my severance pay amount minus the proposed taxes. DOes...

20% is better than 30% or higher.... prove me wrong

Yes, well consider me one of those who have been fooled. I have been told by many VA reps, even attorneys that 100% P&T cannot change. But, like Ron mentioned, I suppose I am wrong. This is really disheartening. Does anyone know that statues or situations in which the VA can lower a 100%...

    weight of Commander Impact Letter

Commander's letter will have weight in terms of fit versus not fit in terms of if you can do your job or not. But its not like it will have bearing on each condition. Those are medical decisions, not up to the Commander in any form.

20% is better than 30% or higher.... prove me wrong

With all due respect you did not read the original post thoroughly. First, as the post mentioned, if 100% P and T on the VA side you and your family get CHAMPVA. Now, this is not really the place to debate all the different aspects between the two, but I researched Tricare for life vs. CHAMPVA...

    Separation Pay Amount Confusion

Yes, they do round down. I have 10 years, 5 months, and my severance pay was calculated at only ten years.

    Separation Pay Amount Confusion

Good news for you.... the DoD, as far as I know, does actually round up. Just not at the point that one would typically think. I think after 9 months, they add the whole year. Basic math indicates that should happen at anything over six months.... which they don't (months 7 and 8), but after...

    Final voucher signing and submission

I submitted my final travel voucher a week ago and have not yet heard anything. Is this normal? I have emailed DFAS, perhaps it is time to make the dreaded call?

    Multiple sclerosis

If you are diagnosed with MS it is possible to remain AD. If sxs are managed and this is possible - it all depends how severe or duty-limiting it is. However, with the increased emphasis on WW deployment, admittedly it can be difficult to remain AD, not necessarily b/c of the condition but...
