  • Hello!
Was wondering if you saw the post from OneFavor. He works the civilian side of Social Security and said it was taking 9-12 months but hadn't processed any vets. I know hubby did initial paperwork Wednesday and got his phone interview Friday. They also said they were mailing us paperwork Friday on how he spends his day which I'm assuming is hte same packet that you are referring to. He said lots get denied the first time, but file an appeal, DO NOT restart the process. UGH! Another wait and my mortgage company really doesn't care if he can't work or not. Thank God we have two incomes!! I'll let you know as we get things back. Good luck!
I noticed you had started the Social Security Disability process. Could you shed some light on your timeline with SSD please? IPEB gave us 70% and he started the SSD process the other day. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Hey Robs, I read some of your posts and if you could please go into Medical Eval section and read mine .. it is called MEB and herniated disk by Johns0n.. I read a few of yours that i found and it seems you have somewhat of the same problems.

I am just wondering what some of the possible results are w/ an MEB. Ive been on profile for 6 months, have herniation in L5-S1.. with right nerve inside or osmething and possibly left? I thnk thats what they said. They are going to start MEB soon. I have done everything beside surgery.. PT, steroid pills, more PT and more drugs.. and seems to just be getting worse.

Im just wondering about possibilites of compensation, retrain? or what. I have 2 years in service and cant do one thing in my job w/o being able to certify and lift a 200 lb missile (w/ 2 other people) which will never be able to happen again.

    Thanks,

    Aaron
Thank you for your support!! I am a mobbed reservist that has been in the CBHCO program since Oct '07. I am scheduled for another physical and to review and sign my NARSUM. I mentioned adding a memo to my NARSUM to my case manager and she played dumb. So this indicates to me, that I need to get smart, and fast! You mentioned that you have a couple of examples or templates for a NARSUM memo. Would you mind sharing these with me? Any other info would be extremely helpful. I am scheduled to arrive for this process on 9 Jun 08. Thanks for your time!

Rob, what is up with you man. I have not heard from you in awhile. Iam waiting for my retirement orders. I have been reading the posts and it seems the general advice is not to try to work while on TDRL unless you may risk being totally cut-off. (Not that it is that easy to find a job when you are really messed up!! )You should find out when your paperwork reaches Randolph, and that will finally give you a good idea of when they will reach a decision.(30-45 days I'd guess) Stay the course, of course... Hey Rob, what's up bro!!! I have being so FU*** busy with the WTB is not even funny, but the worst thing is that these people over here are lost wheb it comes to help soldiers going through the process, anyway, I just want to say hi and today I review my paperwork to send to the PEB and I request for delay until my neurosergeon decides to operate me or not. But in a funny part, my PEBLO told me if I was crazy or why in the HELL i want to stay in the Army with my back problems....CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT????? Telling me that I was crazy bwcause I love what I do in the ARMY? and to serve my country???????? are these people even qualified to make comments like that???/ What the FU** man, I feel more patriotic than some people that where born in this country and this lady ask me these types of questions...Well I'll keep you inform of whats going on bro, take care and Peace ;)
    Rob,

You seem experienced in the medical retirement field. I've talked to Mike and Jason but feel like Im bugging them too much. I'd like another opinion. I am an OIF combat vet with documented smr regarding my injuries. Im seriously considering
medical retirement as an option versus RC 20 year
retirement. I have 5 months left for 20 years as an
    Army National Guard Infantry Soldier.

I have many questions on medical retirement and lining
my ducks in a row. I need to know how to approach this delicately within my unit.
I havent initiated any type of meeting between myself and medical personnel.

I'm also service-connected with the VA and can't work
because of these injuries. I'd like advice on appeals
and lining my ducks in a row.

I would like to talk on the phone as well if youre
interested. I'll foot the dime if you're interested. I promise I won't call you more than once if you're not ok with that. If not email is great.

Please Im desperate. I understand there are attorneys
and experienced advocates working pro bono for vets on
these issues. Any help from you or any referrals will
be appreciated on VA claims or medical retirement.

    Thanks

    Jack
Rob, have you heard anything about your PEB? Iam STILL in a holding status, SIX weeks now. I know Randolph is probably SWAMPED. I was told by the MEB person at Shaw that since Iam guard it would take longer, what is up with that?? I remember the days in the 80's when guard had their own lines at the active duty installations, to seperate us from THEM, I guess some things never change. Yours Truly Jim H
Rob, I've been reading your post. I take it you would not reccomend surgery? I do okay with meds, but tired of being high. Which would you say is better. The 60% from the previous email is great, but I can still touch my toes on a good day, just have to come up really slow. Thanks for your advice.

Rob, Just a few questions if I may? I have back issues as well, L4-L5,L5-S1 fusion. I am currently in the DES Pilot and waiting for the doc in bethesda to write a dictation on me even though he only seen me twice (the pa at my base could not start the med board process) so it has been about three weeks and still waiting. I was TAD to Bethesda for five weeks but there was little to do so they allowed me to return to Sugar Grove, WV. I was just curious if you were in the pilot program and where in the process you were? I read on here the other day that an airforce guy got 60% with permanent retirement for his forward flexion of less than 30 degress and leg pain. Maybe there is hope for us. Thanks for your time Scott
I too have had six pcm's in the past nine months. I have a PEB submitted to Randolph, AFB, two weeks now. Can anyone tell me about how long until the findings from our fine officers is done??? Msgt Jim H
