Ususally 7-10 WORKING days is normal. It can take up to 30. Give it time. You're only 4 working days out. plus this week is more thatn likely half staffed.
A short background, I was medically separated under theNavy IDES in May 2012 @ 0% with severance. I received the severance payment minus taxes. After separation the disqualifying diagnosis rating was changed from 0% to 10%.
Hopefully this can help someone out in the future in getting their...
The scenario Mpadair is talking about is after you ETS. During the first year after you ETS if you file a claim it will be back dated to the date of ETS.
Just wait, remember the Navy is going through the ERB process and downsizing to a force smaller than pre WWII. I was told to expect a delay of up to 6 months to receive orders.
Kinda facing a similar situation in the navy. I made a recommendation for them to not put anything about my MEB/PEB in the evaluation and to write is as a special eval so I am rated solo and others in the same grade do not go up against me since I will be seperating Not sure if that is an...
You should be getting a letter in the mail from the va. Called the va and they had the wrong address so I had a second copy mailed. I wanna say it originally got mailed about 2-3 weeks after my status changed to pending decision approval. It will not go any further until you seperate and turn...
Guiret28 is 100% correct. The VA will recoup any severence amount paid by the DOD. However, in the PEB process the severence is based upon the board finding of unfit which is based only on the disqualifying diagnosis'. It in the future that diagnosis that the member was seperated for has a...
All that the va can do is propose ratings until you are out. Once the ratings are finalized you would be drawing disability compensation. Now that I have signed my 199 I'm waiting on the many departments in psd to put orders together figure out if I owe to any organizations, send an official...
Thanks Mike. Just called the PEBLO and they said to go ahead and gather all evidence now so that when the PEB package comes back from the Navy Yard I can request a formal and start immediately.
I recieved a letter in the mail from the VA with the preliminary findings. Unfitting disabilities 0%, service connected disabilities 70% and a list of conditions under "not related to your military service". Of the diagnosis' listed I have documentation in my medical record for 6 of 8 that...
If you didn't have a proposed out date it would be easily done. Now you technically do not qualify. A waiver would be the best option but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.
Called the VA today and found out that they mailed me something on 05JAN2012 however they had the wrong address. She couldn't discuss what it was but said she was going to mail another copy out today to the correct address with a change of address form. Since a home address is part of...
When my MEB was completed the MEB referral was sent to the PEB along with medical record to include the C&P exams, NARSUM, and NMA, etc. I was provided a copy of the exams and a copy was entered into my medical record. Damn near made another volume. Hope this helps.
