This is an old tread but I can comment on our experiences. WWBn(WTU) is where my husband is currently. It was a huge fight to get him in there because he was over 20 years length of service and many people just have the thought that you can just get out and deal with your issues with the VA. My husbands issues were acute and he needed care before retirement. To get in WWBn there is actually an application, several recommendations and a board that meets to decided if you are a candidate for WWBn. They generally do not accept people in the MEB stage. We were told by WWBn not to even start the MEB until attached to WWBn. Sadly, there are many people at WWBn who should not be there and many others that should be there that are not. That is the 1st conversation I had with the LtCol when my husband was accepted finally. WWBn has been an amazing place for us and my husband is getting the help he needs. We are now in the final PEB stages awaiting medical retirement.
