IDES - AF Timeline & VA C&P Exams

Mine took just a couple days. My location holds weekly MEBs, on Thursdays, and I had appointment to meet PEBLO that afternoon. She sent package to AFPC Friday, and I got myPers confirmation of receipt that Monday, April 1st.

Ok cool, thanks! They hold them here every Monday so that makes me feel better. Seems like this process is finally moving forward.

@ eodpete...my timeline is similar to yours. My PEBLO got my exams back from the VA last Wednesday. I’m hoping to hear from him this week on my 618.

That’s awesome, definitely keep me posted. I just signed my offer and a lease in Dallas for 1 June so hopefully this works out otherwise I might end up going AWOL

Update - PEBLO has been busting his ass! My IMR is complete along with the local board and it's being referred to the IPEB. PEBLO said it should be sent to AFPC on Thursday and he expects it back in 35 - 45 days. Realistic or not?

Also, has anyone written a letter of exception? I noticed there are some discrepancies on my DBQs vs my MTF and civilian records so my PEBLO told me to write a memo for AFPC.

We call them rebuttals here, but yeah. I wrote one for narsum and another for a DBQ for a C&P exam. Narsum just needed some clarification, but the DBQ was out to lunch. The examiner was like 93 y/o and could barely move. Didn’t ask me half the questions and wrote whatever down. Got a few things right, but not all of it. That rebuttal was three pages long I think. Lawyer told me that’s the best you can do, then appeal if necessary.

Good luck! I'm just waiting for the PEB to send the official results now. It's so nerve wracking!

@js820 Yea sounds like the same thing. I just wrote up a page arguing why the board should consider adding my other hip to the referred conditions. My PCM didn't add anything to my NARSUM even though there were about 16 other issues brought up. He just wrote, "see C&P exams". Anyways, I have a meeting at 0800 tomorrow morning to submit and send my package to AFPC and then it's the waiting game again. I'm supposed to start my new job on 31 MAY so I'm praying for a quick turnaround. Lol we already signed a lease and planned on moving the middle of May so I'm just going to hold onto the receipts for TMO once I finally get orders. If AFPC doesn't get my stuff back in time, my chain of command already said they'd approve excess leave and I'll just fly back to do my final out and sign paperwork. Hopefully it doesn't come to that though...

Wow, I hope you get a quick turn around for your sake. good luck.

I had similar issue with my C&P exams. somethings were just not correct so I addressed everything in a letter of exception. I hope to hear something soon as well. I have an interview next week for a job.

My results are in! On my way to the PEBLO now. Fingers crossed!

90% DoD (PDRL) and 100% VA P&T !!! So relieved for this process to be over. Now I have about 17 days to outprocess.

Congratulations!! If I'm reading your previous posts right, looks like it took just over 30 days for you from time your PEBLO sent MEB Results/NARSUM to IPEB to getting results? That's awesome, especially considering lately I've been seeing a lot of time ranges of 60-90 days for that stage.

Yes! The package was sent to the IPEB on 15 March. I am so glad to be one of the quick turn around cases. I dont know if I had it in me to wait much longer. Lol

@Kbert84...congrats on your ratings & retirement!!! Questions...if you don’t mind me asking...where are you stationed? Trying to figure out VA rating turn around times as I’ve been reading some regions are backed up. Also, did you have more than 7 additional medical conditions that you claimed with the VA? Just trying to get an idea of what timeframe I’m looking at...

I am at Fairchild. I know my stuff was processed through the Providence VA (which makes no sense to me). I had 16 claimed conditions. Shocked at how quick it came back with ratings.

Congrats!! Just just my MyPers notification that my package was received at AFPC today! Almost done!

Update:

Apparently there was huge conference in Texas last week for everyone involved in the Med board process including the IPEB folks from AFPC. My PEBLO (who attended) told me everything has been pushed back a week as I have still not heard back from AFPC on whether or not they requested ratings from the VA but my eBennies status changed which I think is good?

Does anyone know of a way to check (besides the PEBLO) to see if AFPC has requested ratings from the VA yet?

Thanks!!

You can call the VA at 800-827-1000 and they can tell you the status of your claim.
