Hello all,

This forum has been very beneficial for me as I navigate through this IDES journey. I want to share my timeline with others in case there are members with similar timelines and/or conditions.

I have almost 22 years of active service. The conditions I'm being MEBd for are: Chronic back pain (DDD w/SCS Implant), Migraines w/Botox shots and Ankle Osteochondritis (multiple surgeries).

May 18: Code 37 assigned
Sep 18: My MEB was placed on hold due to pending permanent SCS implant surgery
Oct 18: SCS implant surgery
23 Jan 19: Met with PCM to complete initial NARSUM
30 Jan 19: Completed NARSUM was submitted to my PEBLO
30 Jan 19: Commander's Impact Statement submitted to PEBLO
1 Feb 19: Package submitted to AFPC
7 Feb 19: AFPC determined Full MEB is required
22 Feb 19: Met with the VA MSC...claimed various other conditions in addition to the 3 conditions listed above
5 Mar: C&P exams scheduled
12-14 Mar: C&P exams

I'll continue to provide updates as I receive them.

If you don't mind me asking what happened to your ankle? I am about to start physical therapy for mine and was told if I don't get better with that ill have to try something different then surgery. I also have horrible migraines and when the pain is bad enough I get sick to my stomach. I have meds for them but do you what the next step would be? Good Luck to you!

So I’ve had two surgeries on my ankle and was diagnosed with osteochondritis & osteoarthritis. This was all stemming from an ankle fracture that didn’t heal and created bone spurs in my ankle joint. Two surgeries later and I’m still in pain and it’s difficult to walk as my ankle locks up on me.

On your migraines...my recommendation is to have your PCM submit a referral to Neurology. I’ve suffered from migraines for almost 15 years and have been on all sorts of meds. It wasn’t until I recently started seeing a Neurologist that my migraines are better managed with Botox shots.

Looks like we have similar timelines - I signed my 618 today but need to write up a letter of exception so it won't be submitted to AFPC until 4/18/19. I'll be interested to see how quickly your ratings come back. Good luck!!

Thanks and same to you! I got the myPers email today stating they received my package...praying for a quick turn!

It’s basically a MFR for the board explaining circumstances and clarifying things in the NARSUM. One more document to get your point across whether it’s RTD or separate.

That’s was a quick response by AFPC - mine was sent down on the 17th so hopefully I’ll hear something back this week.

Yes! I was shocked on the quick turn from the IPEB. My concern is the wait for the VA ratings as I’ve been reading some regions are backed up. Hopefully I’ll hear something within the next month...

Hoping you get a quick response from the IPEB as well!

Mine is pretty similar and I will let you know when I get ratings. Sent to IPEB 04/03 and request for ratings 04/10.

Do you all know which region your ratings are through? Mine was through the Providence VA and it was 35 days from the day my package was sent to the VA for ratings to when I signed my results. I was expecting to wait at least 2 months.

I don’t know what region has my claim. How do we find out? Do we call the 800 # for the VA Benefits?

Just an update for those with similar timelines, my eBenefits moved to pending decision approval today. I know this system can be very inaccurate, but at least something has changed lol.
