I am a Army Reserve AGR with 21yrs of total service and 15yrs active. I have recently had both my psychiatrist for PTSD/TBI and Cardiologist fill out the eval the Army has you do. Both came back with only being able to wear a uniform, cannot do anything to include no complex tasks or leading people. I was diagnosed with Severe/Chronic PTSD and Cardiologist said my PTSD pushes my heart condition beyond what the medication can deal with putting me in jeopardy.
They have the AGRs send up the packet by yourself. Ft xxx pushed it forward to another medical facility for further eval and fit for duty. Today before I could even schedule an appointment they stated I was denied to go to the MEB with behavioral health and I would be fit for duty and no comments about the Cardiologist eval. When I asked how to appeal they had no answers.
I spoke to my mentor who said this is common and to appeal. He told me to regroup and have my command and supervisor push forward that I'm unfit for duty. They all have expected it to go through with recent events and the severity of my condition. They have even cut back most my duties so as not to have a relapse based on the evaluations the doctors did and recent events.
Just looking for validation I guess. I probably should have initially had my commands statements with it etc for a stronger packet.

He just needs to get his profile packet submitted with some letters stating non deployable. Active Duty kicks people out so fast if non deployable even if AGR meaning they are in the Reserves too. Agree though if only Reserve or NG they tend to keep people in. That's why everyone in my wife's unit were shocked that her condition triggered a fit for duty exam. Luckily for my wife, her commander rescinded the fit for duty exam stating the Regulations that they can have her try to get better for up to 1 year. Then that profile fell off due to COVID so she is flying under the radar. Her commander is allowing her to adhere to her non existent profile LOL. This will buy her time to get her 20 good years and to get promoted to Major before she is probably kicked out.
