    Stellate Ganglion Block for PTSD

I realize this is an old thread but found it when looking for info on the SGB procedure. I was offered this treatment by my VA psychiatrist (local clinic) through a civilian provider in town. I'll post back if I opt to get it for treatment resistant depression and PTSD. It's definitely an...

That's a bummer - hopefully you'll get a more favorable rating on the appeal.

Thoughts on this NARSUM prognosis? Fit/Unfit?

TheChip - wow, I haven't heard this before (bolded/underlined quote). I've always heard (from friends who have retired) that you're supposed to stop movement when you experience pain for ROM.

Bilateral Tibial Stress Fractures, 5+ months non-healing, 22 years of active service

Friends, I have bilateral stress fractures that haven't healed in 5 months despite daily use (3 hours per leg) of a bone stimulation device (electromagnetic pulse emitter) for 4 months. If my L&R tibia do not heal in the next 2-3 months I'll be looking at a MEB. I also have a history of...

    Ratings for Spinal Conditions?

Hi Mark, Any updates on your MEB? I've just discovered I have some back issues (mild/moderate degenerative disc disease shown by x-ray) and am doing some initial reading about other's conditions. ----- Jason, Thanks for the thorough break-down!

    Looking for some advice

JMP - thanks, that's great information! I'm having a DEXA scan done soon and I've had my vitamin D checked (it was a bit low but I'm on vitamins now). All in all, I'm working with ortho and endocrinology to see if they can diagnose what's causing these bone issues / slow healing. I'm already...

    Looking for some advice

JMP - any long term update on your case? I ask because I have multiple bilateral tibia stress fractures which haven't healed after 3 months even with a bone stimulator used for 3 hours per day per leg. I've just received another 3 months of profile but am interested in learning more about...

    PCS'ing while recommended for MEB/PEB

Old thread but still good info - here's what I found in AR 635-40: 4–8. Status of Soldiers undergoing disability evaluation From the time a Soldier receives a P3/P4 profile referring them to a MEB until the time the DES process is completed (including a decision on any appeal) or the Soldier is...

I want to get med board asap

Had to comment here - pretty darn funny! :D Spot on with the documenting and getting copies of your records - I'm retiring in the next 2-3 years and I plan on getting a fully copy of my record every year. I'm still aggravated that my records from Iraq (2004) have been lost (we weren't allow...

Military Times: Malaria drug causes brain damage that mimics PTSD: case study

Good info here - I've saved to a PDF and shared with a buddy. chaplaincharlie - agreed! I remember when there was a big fuss about the Anthrax vaccine. Those who refused were punished and the rest of us took it whether we wanted to or not. If I recall it was a total of 5-7 shots (some were...

    help with calculations

Good to know - thanks again! Do you know if combat related disabilities are calculated in the same way as "VA math"? Quite a few of my injuries are deployment related but do not add up to 100% if using VA math.

Thanks for confirming! After doing more reading here on the forum, I've found some pretty good formulas. Now I just need to read up on how to estimate my CRSC. Caveat - I'll be retiring in then next 2-4 years and am trying to do a preliminary budget. I don't have any precise/assigned...

    help with calculations

Friends, I'm trying to do some future planning but I'm guessing this is a flawed calculator (see link & attachment). Are there any better ones for figuring out what your retirement will be based on various disability percentages after 20 years? Shouldn't a person who is over 20 with even 50%...
