    TIMELINE: MEB THROUGH PEB

Congrats to all those getting their answers back. I picked January 8th as my separation date and should start my terminal leave the Monday before Thanksgiving, just enough time to drive home and be with family!

    TIMELINE: MEB THROUGH PEB

Great news and a huge relief..... I got my results back to day, 10% with severance, I go in Monday to do the paperwork. I would have liked retirement but since I mainly just have muscle and nerve damage in my leg I knew the VA wouldn't rate it high, and it was my only disqualifying condition...

Found out my IPEB is done awaiting QC?

I just got my results today, so it only took a week to get them from the time it was signed off by the final QA authority and approver.

    meb still deployable

For the Navy if you are placed in a "Limited Duty" (LIMDU) status you are non-deployable, but that is a status generally assigned by the MEB. I am assuming there is something along those lines for you, I would find out your medical status and check the regs to see if that places you in a...

Disgrace to the Uniform and all Disabled Veterans

This is a News story on MSNBC about a Marine who faked injuries and PTSD for personal gain, a disgrace to his service, and a slap in the face to everyone with real disabilities claims. Marine pleads guilty in hero hoax - Military- msnbc.com

Found out my IPEB is done awaiting QC?

They told me that once it is shown as QA in their system that it will stay that way until it is in my hands and I accept or reject... but with the way things are in this process I just nod my head and smile like I am talking to a rambling old man.

    Ankle Fusion

This could possibly affect your packet, you need to talk to your PEBLO or case manager to know for sure. What they do in some cases if is something new is added that will definitely have a bearing on the case is the packet will be suspended until the issue is resolved. However, since you are...

Found out my IPEB is done awaiting QC?

I just spoke with my Voc Rehab counselor this morning and she was able to show me the timeline that my record has been going through in D.C. Appearently when my packet went for the final signatures they authorizer did not like the wording or rating that the VA assigned to, so it was sent back to...

    TIMELINE: MEB THROUGH PEB

Grats on the 60%, hopefully you get your orders quickly and can get some fishing done when you get back home.

Found out my IPEB is done awaiting QC?

No, I really wish I did though. All the PEBLO told me was that it "could be good or bad, hope it's good"... talk about being absolutely useless when you are already stressed about the thing. I am just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it got kicked back because they tried to rank it lower...

Found out my IPEB is done awaiting QC?

Try not to get too down, the PEBLO here at Balboa said that typically once the record has made it to the QA process there are no more updates until they recieve it for signatures and approval/disapproval by the service member. So you record could be mailed out or just beginning, unfortunately...

    TIMELINE: MEB THROUGH PEB

May 2009 - Case Referred to PEB June 2009 - Completed all VA appointments and NMA July 13, 2009- Packet sent to DC for review/Decision August 21, 2009- PEBLO says that the board just recieved my packet on August 3rd, indicating somehow my record was in LIMBO for 3 weeks with no explation why...

Found out my IPEB is done awaiting QC?

Make sure you call the PEBLO within the next week or so and keep a close watch on this, my packet went to the QA for signatures and ended up getting kicked back to the board again, I am still waiting for it to make it back to the QA again. Update: I just spoke with the PEBLO this morning...

    Chronic Compartment Syndrome

Thanks, that does give me somewhat of an idea. I am just crossing my fingers for 30% so I can get the med retirement, but right now even severance is okay, tired of the nonsense and wait. It sucks to get a surgery and feel good till you start running again, then feel your leg decline to a worse...

    Chronic Compartment Syndrome

I am trying to find out if anyone has heard of how chronic or exertional compartment syndrome is rated. My Doc at Balboa told me it was hard to diagnose and treat because not a lot is understood about it and what long term effects it has. I had the surgery for it to reduce the pressure build it...

DOD Policy Memo 2008 NDAA: Independent Medical Advisor

I was never even told of this option. In fact since I have already reached/exceeded the maximum amount of LIMDU time allowed during a Navy career they sent my paperwork straight to the PEB process and skipped the MEB entirely this time.

    TIMELINE: MEB THROUGH PEB

I wish I could say my timeline was going as smoothly as most of the guys on here, congrats for the short delays. I'm still waiting on a decision unfortunately. May 2009 - Case Referred to PEB June 2009 - Completed all VA appointments and NMA July 13, 2009- Packet sent to DC for review/Decision...

    Disability Severance Pay and IRS

From what I have been reading on the DFAS site as well as other instructions the only way your disability severance pay is tax free is if your injury or disabilities were a result of combat or instruments of war. If you are like me and your disabilities are from misdiagnosis and lots of vitamin...
