    Navy Timeline and Results

I'm in the same situation as you right now as far as being medically retired before 20 years. You will not receive DoD retirement AND VA disability compensation. You will waive DoD compensation in lieu of VA compensation because it will be the greater of the two in your situation. Receiving...

    My Navy Timeline for Radiculopathy

I didn't get to pick my retirement date. I emailed the POC listed on the NPC page twice and didn't receive a response. I was asking the same thing -- "Do I get to choose a retirement date?" Anyway, two weeks after my initial email I received my message indicating my Release from Active Duty...

@navycop My retirement message came yesterday. The email you provided was listed on the message but I got no response from them in two emails prior to receiving the message. I appreciate the help. My final day in the Navy is on 26 Feb. I'll be starting PTDY and terminal leave on 26 December. I...

    Navy- My Timeline

I emailed the address listed on the NPC page for PDRL/TDRL twice asking if I was able to choose my own date. They never emailed me back. It just happened to work out that I got what I wanted with the end of Feb. Just sit on your findings for a few days and you should make it to March.

Are you Navy or Marine Corps? If so, call this number: (202) 685-6422. The number is the PEB office in DC. I called the other day with a question. They looked me up and I had my answer in about five minutes. They may be able to confirm if your case is at the VA because you were found unfit.

    My Navy Timeline

@navycop No response from the email I sent. I also tried calling PERS 954 and couldn't get through to anyone in any position to help me. I'm coming up on three weeks since accepting my findings. I guess it will just continue to be a waiting game for me. I did find out my case was adjudicated...

Q1: From PEB receiving my package to me getting my ratings was about six weeks. Q2: Your NMA should have included your previous two years of evals as enclosures. If your PEBLO sent your package without them, it wouldn't seem odd for the PEB to request them. I'm not sure about Q3.

    What’s Next?

@jonathan.a.brodeur Although it didn't do any such thing in my experience, the VA website mentions that your case may go "backwards" for various reasons. I know that isn't much help and probably doesn't do anything to ease the anxiousness I'm sure you're feeling, but hopefully it helps a little.

    Navy- My Timeline

I was found unfit on 9 October 2018. I received my findings on 5 November. Now I'm playing the waiting game as far as waiting on my retirement message to come in. According to PEB, my case was adjudicated by the office of Sec Nav on 19 November. I'm waiting on PERS to send my message now...

Bicuspid valve and 4.4cm aortic aneurysm

In the Navy you would be placed on Permanent Limited Duty and assigned a pseudo AQD/NEC indicating your inability to deploy. I had heart surgery in May for what doctors thought was a bicuspid valve. Turns out the leaflets were just becoming incompetent and the valve was actually tricuspid. The...

    What’s Next?

It was definitely something I never imagined I would have to deal with. The way I started to look at it was, I gave the Navy my best - always. My situation was nothing that I asked for, nor was it anything I could have prevented. If something beyond my control was going to keep me from...

    Severance?

The requirement to qualify for medical retirement is 30% or more for your unfitting conditions (the conditions you were referred to IDES for). So if you did actually get 60-70% from the Army, you would be retired and not separated with severance.

    What’s Next?

I brought up med board to my PCM. I had heart surgery and all my doctors said I would be done (they were right). I've been a hard charger my whole career. Basically, I just told my doc I didn't want to delay the inevitable med board, since I knew it was coming, and just get it over with. I said...

    New timeline ANG AGR MEB

My PEBLO stressed to me that eBenefits isn't necessarily accurate regarding estimated dates for those in the IDES process. In fact, my estimated completion date when I received my findings was early 2019. As of July 2018, all military departments have been directed to make attempts to complete...
