Multiple Sclerosis - DoD vs VA Rating

I’m sorry to hear that, I hope that you’re doing well despite the diagnosis. I ended up with 40% DoD and 90% VA. I don’t have my paperwork with me as I’m in the middle of a move but once I get settled I can get you the break out. If you have any questions, definitely let me know!

Help - Need to Slow Roll!

Thank you! I'm hoping not to appeal...maybe just delay a little bit. How long do you have to sign the AF 356 once it's presented? I heard 10 days. That would even be enough to make a difference for me.

Help - Need to Slow Roll!

My case was submitted to the VA on 21 May...I was expecting a minimum of a 6-8 week turn around for ratings and have a few things riding on the fact that my DOS is still technically not until 2022. The VA closed my case out today. My PEBLO doesn't have my ratings yet. What can I expect in...

    AF Timeline for Lupus (SLE)

I'm at Fort Meade and my PEBLO is at Andrews AFB. It really is taking FOREVER and the unknowns are stressing me out so much. I already have anxiety and this is only making it worse. I'm claiming about 12 conditions I think, the unfitting condition being MS. My C&P were super quick but then...

    AF Timeline for Lupus (SLE)

We have had pretty similar timelines it looks like! I'm 2 steps behind you...still waiting for an addendum to come in so I can review my 618. If you don't mind me asking, which base are you filing out of?

    Sanity Check - Unfit Decision

I’m hoping to get a fit/unfit finding in the next 2ish weeks. Once I’m (hopefully) found unfit, can I essentially start planning for my retirement in a slightly more official capacity? I’m being boarded for MS (among other things) and my understanding is that MS is rated a minimum of 30% which...

    Timeline Question

Would either of you be willing to provide the template you used for the expedite memo? Who did you have sign it? Thanks! -Danielle

Order of Events Question - Air Force

I thought I had a grasp on the order of events but now I'm getting confused. I finished my C&P exams with QTC last week and I confirmed that the results had been submitted and will be sent to the VA and my MSC/PEBLO by Monday. My understanding was that once they are received, I sign my 618, and...

Air Force Timeline - Multiple Sclerosis

It took awhile because originally the VA said they had the capacity to see me but then 3 weeks later they finally decided that I needed to go through QTC instead. Once that determination was made, I had all of my appointments done within 2 weeks.

Air Force Timeline - Multiple Sclerosis

Just finished up my VA C&P exams last week and I was hoping to get a good estimate of how long QTC is taking to get results back lately - thanks!

Multiple Sclerosis - DoD vs VA Rating

Thank you! I've heard horror stories about the C&P exams. This is what I'm thinking but again, I don't know what the burden of "proof" is... Symptom Code Rating Description - Military Disability Made Easy Numbess 8529 10% Paralysis of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. Complete...

Multiple Sclerosis - DoD vs VA Rating

Thank you! I've definitely looked at that site a lot. I have an idea for ratings but I don't know how "strict" the VA is if that makes sense. All of my symptoms are well documented but I don't know what all they need to rate a condition.

Multiple Sclerosis - DoD vs VA Rating

So the DoD does rate MS based off of symptoms? There is a super wide range of MS ratings, I'm just hoping to get an idea of how others have been rated with similar symptoms.

Multiple Sclerosis - DoD vs VA Rating

My med board has officially kicked off and I am looking for a little input. I know MS is a minimum 30% but the VA rates based on the symptoms so the ratings are normally more than the minimum. I have two main questions: 1- Does the DoD rate the same way? I know they only look at the unfitting...

    Multiple Sclerosis - Questions

Thanks for the quick response! Fingers crossed for medical retirement and decent ratings! The Air Force has a "road map" posted on AFPC that says the average timeline is about 230 days. I looked at about 22 different timelines others have posted on this site and 230 seems like a good estimate...

    Multiple Sclerosis - Questions

I’ve been in the Air Force for 8 years this February. I was diagnosed with my first clinical episode of Multiple Sclerosis (although I have 4 lesions) in 2017 and due to an administrative error, my case only recently went to a DAWG. All of my symptoms are well documented and I am on medication...
