I think I have the answer to this one. When I signed my official findings, I got to pick a day within 60 days. And, the guy counseling me said that my leave should be taken before that date.

That's my final day-period. I have to have my leave taken before then.

I plan to keep up with things. Gotta pay it forward :)

I'm with you there. Without this site, I think I might have gotten screwed over in this process. The people helping me along the way have not been the most forthcoming with information about the process, I've learned just about everything I know about the PEB process from this site!

So, I just got a call from the chief's who do our PEB's. My findings are back, and I go to sign them on Monday. This is going to be a very long weekend, I'm sure. To sum up my timeline- May 2012-board initiated. July 2012-package sent to PEB August 2012-Found Unfit September 6th 2012-Findings...

Urg. They are making me a bit frustrated. My case has gone pretty fast, so I don't think I should complain too much, but it's like this faxing thing is just a myth.

Well, I'm only at about the 10 day mark on it. So, the lady I talked to today, who was a straight b****, had it resent to my house, but told me faxing was "not going to happen".

Is there some kind of magic word or phrase to tell these VA people on the phone to get them to fax my ratings?

They (and by "they", I mean the VA) came back in my stuff pretty quick. Quite a bit faster than I was anticipating. I don't understand why it takes so long for some people's cases. I claimed a bunch of stuff, so I don't get it.

Yeah, I mean, the folks at the VA (can't tell me my ratings over the phone, of course), but they keep saying things like "I'd be happy", and "congrats on your retirement". So, I'm wondering, what are the odds that the PEB is going to be like, "oh hell no". lol.

How long did it take you from the time you got your proposed VA ratings till you got your retirement date? And, what's the timeline for retirement dates? Like do you get to pick it, and is it within like 60 days or something? How does that part work?
