Asking for a friend..22 yrs in, Admin Sep (or maybe MEB)

Agree with chaplaincharlie. You can't request an MEB, you are referred due to perhaps not meeting medical retention standards. Doubt they will recommend since they are lookin go separate her for not meeting physical standards.

    Confused about the appeal process

The first half does. VA granted tinnitus (good thing) but you still have several other things on appeal so its still an active appeal. VA will not pay you until the entire issues on appeal are completed. I am not sure about the removal from the appeals process piece.

    GUARD LOD PEB

Sorry to hear about your diagnoses and continued challenges with you LOD. I could be wrong and maybe someone can correct me if this is the case, but they might be correct in the not in the line of duty. While you were in annual training, how can you prove that your diagnosis is a direct result...

    meb change to retirement

Without knowing the condition you were diagnosed with its hard to tell if it should have been deemed as unfit during your MEB. I understand that VA found it as a service connected condition, this is different than the Army saying it makes you unfit to continue service. Were there any other...

    Does MEB overrule chapter?

I agree with jahlon, it is up to the commander. Should the commander take the soldier medical history and current status into account when making a decision? YES, but most commanders will separated for the UCMJ violation in most cases with a General or Other Than Honorable discharge which can...

    VGLI life insurence ?

Yes, that would seem to be the case without knowing the details of why this happened. There is a timeline to make the switch to VGLI. Not the expert on VGLI, but from what research I have done and people I spoke with the premiums are quite high, many people recommend that you find a private...

    Med board vs. ETS

Agree with above statements. If you have been recommended for a med board this should take priority, even if your ETS is approaching. Think of it as outstanding conclusion that nothing is allowed to happen until there is a resolution with this. As a matter of fact you should not be allowed to...

TDRL expired; no re-eval; no contact; HELP!

Hello PEB forum, I am currently assisting a Navy veteran who was placed on the TDRL in 2008 but never was given a re-examination any anytime during the process. Now that it has been over 5 years he was administratively removed from the roles. I have tried to contact the Navy TDRL branch and...

    Where am I?

Sounds like you are in the MEB phase to determine which conditions do not meet medical retention standards. You are waiting on them to schedule your Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams, to determine the current effect your condition has on you. Once this is complete you will receive your MEB...

    Newly Retired, Need Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don' think anyone is responding because they don't understand your issue. I am not sure I do either but I will try to answer you. Yes, DoD will pay you until VA kicks in, and yes, you will receive the greater amount in this case being VA. There was no gap in your pay correct? DFAS paid you...

    PTSD & TDRL vs PDRL

From my experience assisting other service member in IDES, you will be placed on the TDRL for PTSD. I don't think they take into consideration how long you had a diagnosis. You always have the right to request a formal hearing if you are not satisfied with the results.

    DD214

Are you currently on active duty orders at a WTU during the process? If you are, then you will get a DD214 as you separate. I have not heard of a guard unit cutting a DD214, don't know if anyone has but I believe the guard cuts a National Guard Bureau 22 (NGB-22). The official title is the...
