    100% P&T with SMC-S

A few years ago I was rated 100% P&T with a housebound SMC code. I am not longer totally housebound. How do I notify the VA of this change?

Service time buyback and medical retirement. ..

I'm not sure how well the FERS program people talk with the DoD retirement office people. I would not assume they will catch the situation since it's pretty unique. If you have already bought back your Military Service time in FERS, you can always reverse it and they will give you the money...

Service time buyback and medical retirement. ..

Not true, you can only buyback and receive the FERS service credit if the injury occurred during combat/instrument of war OR if retired from the reserves. However, they probably won't catch it and it would be up to you to notify them of the situation. It's in the first paragraph on the OPM...

    Borderline personality disorder

It will not be listed on your DD214. All your DD214 will say is your type of discharge, honorable or otherwise.

    Borderline personality disorder

You mean jobs in the military? Possibly, I'm not that knowledgeable about it. Civilian jobs? Well, they have no right to see your medical record so shouldn't have any effect. Only ones I can think of that might ask for your psych record are commercial pilot, nuclear facility operator, etc.

    Borderline personality disorder

I would find a new psychiatrist and ensure whatever BPD diagnosis this guy made never makes it into your medical record.

    TSP Withdrawal Question

Yes, if you get a FED job and already have a MIL TSP account, you can transfer and consolidate to a single CIV account. I did it when I left the reserves.

NVLSP: Free IDES (MEB/PEB) and CRSC help!

I would just submit all your info to them, explain where you are at in the process and let them decide.

NVLSP: Free IDES (MEB/PEB) and CRSC help!

This is copied verbatim from their intake specialist, Dorrie... "Thank you so much for applying to NVLSP. As you mentioned in your survey response, it appears that it is too early to determine if you need NVLSP’s assistance. However, if when you get your IPEB results, you have concerns or...

NVLSP: Free IDES (MEB/PEB) and CRSC help!

Just a heads up, but they won't take your case until you've been through an Informal PEB and have the results in hand. They help with repeals, Formal PEBs, etc.

    P&T Proposed Ratings

I was initially rated at 70% Mental Health, then a year later got bumped to 100% P&T at 31/32 years of age respectively so apparently it isn't that uncommon. What I'm wondering is if, with my VA ratings already established, will DoD TDRL or PDRL me on the first round.

Help understanding the MEB process in the Reserves

You should have army doctors available at wherever you drill. Next drill weekend, as to see the doc or set up an appointment. The Navy has medical departments at each of it's reserve centers (i.e., NOSC) , I would assume the army has the same to ensure the reserve guys remain ready for active...

Help understanding the MEB process in the Reserves

Ok, I'm currently in a similar situation, though navy. If you don't have a LOD (as I don't), you need to have as many doctors as you can write in your medical record that your reserve service "aggravated the condition beyond normal progression." If they can tie it to specific drill periods or...

Chronic Adjustment Disorder; with mixed emotions (anxiety, depression) & suicidal ideation

Medication for mental health, as far as the DoD and VA are concerned, is totally voluntary and refusing medication is not considered refusing treatment because of the lack of evidence supporting the efficacy (and safety) of long term use of psychotropics. I still get treatment from a...

Chronic Adjustment Disorder; with mixed emotions (anxiety, depression) & suicidal ideation

I stopped medication, informed the VA during my re-evaluation that I had stopped and the VA increased me from 70% to 100% P&T for mental health

Medical Retirement after Discharge from AD Service

Another approach I would recommend to your lawyer concerning the OTH discharge is that anti-depressants are known to be dis-inhibiting and can cause people to act outside of their nature and without sound judgment (they certainly did that to me and cost me my career). I would highly recommend...

What is the difference between VA rating and DoD rating?

The VA is the only agency that rates disabilities. The DoD does not perform the rating, they only determine whether you are fit or not to continue service. While the VA will compensate you based on any and all Service Connected conditions, the DoD will only recognize those conditions that they...

Sudden Cardiac Arrest/AICD and pre-existing conditions

I don't have experience with SCA/AICD, but what I do know is regardless of whether it was a prior condition or not, the VA/DoD would have to definitively show that it wasn't aggravated/exacerbated while on active duty, which would be difficult with all the exercise/PT required by active duty...
