AF rated me @ 10%; VA @ 30%

I just got my Va rating back (only took 9 months to complete) as was baffled that the Va rated my MDD @ 30% when the AF rated it @ 10%. I only presented the VA with my medical records and did a short interview.

I'm wondering why the difference in ratings, since the VA and military use the same disability rating system... Is this difference in ratings justification enough to apply for a PDBR? Also, is the PDBR only reviewing cases from 11 Sep 01 - 31 Dec 09. I was medically discharged Sep 2010 and it appears I can only go the BCMR route. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it is enough to appeal (though, you would not need the VA rating to appeal- it is just good evidence of your proper rating). You will have to go to AF BCMR or directly to Federal Court.

Did you agree with the AF findings when you were separated?

Jason, thanks for the quick response!

I didn't appeal to the SECAF after I received the notifications(the process had taken almost 2 years and I was tired of the BS). I can look back at my records but am not sure if "I concurred" with the findings.
