Good Morning!

There aren't many data points for post-IDES VA claim timelines, so I figured I'd poll the group. If I had to guess, it's probably around the same time as the regular IDES initial claims? Anyone have any data or experience?

Well, odd occurance. I received a call from my VA rater with my package ready to finalize, just needed a copy of a DD-214 I had from 2018 when I went permanent commission. It'll be finalized today.

So, about 5 weeks from DD-214 delivered, and 3 weeks from retirement to finalized after IDES claim.

I'll update when I have more to report. Right now:
5/8/25: DD214 submitted via QuickSubmit to VA.
5/30/25: First day of med retirement.
6/9/25: Moved to step 5 on VA website.
????: Claim finalized.
????: First VA payment.

Does anyone know when your first paycheck from DFAS/DoD hits?
I received my pro-rated DFAS/DoD direct deposit for May 30-31st this morning (6/10). On my retiree MyPay profile, it says my first full month’s DFAS check should be paid July 1st.

My TDRL started on 30MAY. My Retiree Account has been setup on MyPay but it's blank pretty much for everything. Did you call them or anything?

On the top right of the screen under "Choose an account", make sure you are on your "Navy military retiree" account and then I looked at the "Annual or Changed RAS" statement. I didn't realize I had to select the retiree account, so I wasn't seeing anything for a couple of weeks. I just checked my bank account and saw the May pro-rated amount this morning, same direct deposit account as I had during AD. I didn't call them or anything though. My "Statement Effective Date" says 6/6/25 if that is significant.

My DFAS is still showing nothing under my retiree account. Im gonna give them a call tomorrow morning.

@Rekmor Did your percentage change at all for the VA? I went from Step 5 to Step 6 in four days. I am worried my percentages were dropped or something bad happened. TDRL 100% DoD 100% VA.

I am just really worried my percentages are going to change or something bad will happen.

So, figured I'd give an update today.

I spoke to someone from the VA in their "VA Solid Start" program. They contact you every 3 months for the first year to see how things are going and got a few questions asked.

My claim letter was released on 9JUN25 after re-opening on 25APR25. After a decision letter was issued, it was immediately shifted back to Step 3, though with the original expected rating. They want more information on some deferred claim conditions. It won't have an effect on my rating, but they want to rate it anyway. In addition, my MSC provided some old versions of dependency forms to me, so I had to fill out the newer versions for processing by the VA. They still entered the baseline dependency data, but it was left in a pending status effectively.

So as of today, I'm waiting for the 2nd round of claim stuff to "gather evidence" for the deferred claims and processing of the dependency forms. I have a monthly payment amount that is simply for myself at my 100% rating + SMC-S, as expected. I'll provide some more data as it comes about in my "Timeline" thread.
