Attached is APDA guidance on range of motion. This has been updated and there has been a change in the policy that maparker discusses below.

The Army Range of Motion policy limits its application to ROM issues that are due to a mechanical basis. That Army speicfic policy is currently under review by the DoD General Cousel to see if it is legal and in compliance with DoD directives and instructions.

Mike, I don't understand the the term "mechanical basis" Is my tendon mechanical? I have always taken that it would be rated under [FONT=&quot]5270.[/FONT]
 
The Army's mechanical basis policy was rescinded in February due to the 2008NDAA requirement to rate per the VASRD. That policy no longer applies.

dON'T KNOW what still applies since the DOD os not following the Congressional diredtice to apply to all injuries not just unfitting for duty injuries,
