I was medically retired in 2016 70%PDRL/90%VA for MDD and anxiety. I have worked since then but have been having a difficult time. Today I had a meltdown at work so I no longer work there. This is the 2nd time and 2nd job this has happened at since the end of May. I can't deal with people anymore. I have been reluctant to apply for SSDI because I thought going to work everyday would help me be more "normal". It has just made things worse. What do I need to do to apply for SSDI?

You can begin the application online.

Make sure you answer all of their questions as you would on your worst days. Also look up mental health requirements in the SSDI “blue book” and see how the criteria aligns with your mental health conditions as described in your doctors notes.

Also consider going through a lawyer to apply if there is a reputable lawyer who specializes in SSDI in your area.
