I filled out my CRSC myself for PTSD. I was approved for 70%.

Submitted 24 September 18
Finished 27 December 18.

I haven't received a payment or back pay yet. I will post that timeline as well. I just wanted to let y'all know on the Army's Time Table.

That's good to hear that they have reduced their timeline down to 3 months. It wasn't long ago that they were taking over a year and denying most PTSD claims. Hopefully the army is getting their act together. Usually they only process recent retirees in the transition phase that quick. Congratulations

Indeed, that's outstanding news; congratulations and enjoy! :D

Hopefully, the overall average processing duration for an Army CRSC claim has decreased also. Take care! :)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!

Thanks everyone. I am surprised at how quick it went. I was expecting to wait a year before my decision.
I feel bad for those who had to wait a year or more for there CRSC approval. I'm just blessed they are processing the claims faster now.

Indeed, you are welcome! As such, it's great that your above CRSC approval letter accommodates the change in total combat-related disability percentage due to a change in your PTSD with MDD condition's percentage rate.

No worries and being a constant labor-intensive reviewal CRSC process, it took over 13 months until I received my Army CRSC approval decision letter unfortunately; that's life for sure!

Again hopefully the overall average processing duration for an Army CRSC claim has decreased also. Thanks for sharing your Army CRSC experience! Take care!

You are welcome. I know there are many newbies trying figure out there own situation. I tried to read as many trends-forms online as possible. I would have never known about CRSC if there wasn't so many people posting or searching for answers.
For me this is my morning paper with a hot cup of Jo.
I'm learning like the rest of the people on here.
God Bless yall. I pray that y'all get what your intitled to.

Nice, I think our group may be a little delayed. Something tells me there were a lot of approvals that went our prior to tax season kicking off and we're all still waiting for the first payment. I have only called DFAS once and that was to get a basis of where I was in the process. When I talked to them a few days ago (6 Feb 2019) I was told they hadn't processed mine yet and that they had 30 days up to 45 days to get it calculated. I'm fine with waiting. I know others aren't but at least in my case, I am assuming they still haven't processed it yet. I'll update as soon as I get the first payment. I probably won't call again either as I have zero desire to sit on hold for 1 1/2 hours.

28 Dec 2018 submitted CRSC app
Haven’t heard anything at all so we called hrc today and the woman verified on 30 December application was received and she said it takes an average of 7 months for processing. Glad to at least know for sure it was received.

Just got approved for CRSC at 70%, it was a long road...

  • Medically Retired from the Army in the summer of 2015
  • Put in my CRSC claim in the fall of 2017
  • Checked with them in the spring of 2018, they told me they had a "computer crash" and had "lost a lot of claims", had me resubmit directly to a 2nd supervisor's email.
  • Checked with them last week, was told the 2nd supervisor was gone on training but they would submit it immediately for processing.
  • Much to my pleasant surprise, received approval yesterday!
  • They approved all but one condition even though I had only applied for CRSC related to a spinal injury I sustained at NTC (Simulations of War and Instrumentalities of War)
  • The other conditions (hearing loss and Tinnitus from an IED and PTSD) they approved based on "combat awards".
  • The spinal injury including radiculopathy of both legs they approved based on "Instrumentality of War".
My advice, if you haven't heard anything back on your claim after six months, call them up and ask. The supervisor who helped me both times was very nice and helpful even if the process appears to be seriously flawed. Don't wait too long, backpay for CRSC only goes back six years. The good news, its non-taxable.

Hope this helps...

Just got that in the on Valentines Day, I submitted maybe 4 months ago, now the IBS was a VA increase, but I never did the PSTD or Tinnitus, I guess they took upon themselves which either way I am grateful, even more grateful it was back dated to 2013, 100% VA, 80% Army, 19.3 years, 80% CRSC, I think I may just get enough back pay to reset my life:) any idea they finally linked PTSD to CRSC? I am sure you do.

Congratulations!!

I was automatically awarded PTSD because I got injured in combat. Thanks for sharing..
Honestly I have no clue, I was medically retired 6 years ago and submitted CRSC then (19.3 Active), the only rating I ever got back was approval for 0% IBS lol, then two years ago I requested and increase to the IBS claim, the VA after 18 months, an appeal, then another appeal finally assigned 30% and DFAS automatically started paying me. I had submitted an ankle injury as well, of course it was denied but they added PTSD and Tinitus without me even trying to tie it to combat, I wonder what would have happened if I had given up and never applied. Either way it is awesome and grateful, it is the only time I have gotten anything from the VA, Army, SSA, charity without having to appeal and bear my soul and feel like I am complaining.
