Dr. Omalu is a forensic pathologist, neuropathologist and epidemiologist, scheduled to speak at Wounded Warrior Battalion (West) Warrior Hope and Care Center Amphitheater. Dr. Omalu was the first to discover and identify chronic brain damage, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), as a major factor in the deaths of some professional athletes and he was the first to discover CTE in military veterans diagnosed with PTSD. Revolutionizing neuro- science, sports medicine and safety, Dr. Omalu’s discoveries are chronicled in the movie “Concussion,” starring actor Will Smith.
