Hello.

Case.
—High three average base pay- 3351.50
—DoD disability percentage- 60%
—Active duty years OR active duty equivalent years for those with reserve time (total points divided by 360)- 10 yrs, 7 months and 15 days
—VA compensation percentage; amount; and dependents (category, number, and ages of children)- 100%, 3736.40, Spouse and 3 kids 14,13, 8
—Approved CRSC percentage- 60%
—Other type military retirement eligibility info- No to blended retirement

[Thank you for providing exactly what is necessary for the estimate. Ron]

Estimate using your info.

1. 3351.50 x 60% = 2010.90 retired pay which is reduced to zero by amount of VA comp
2. 10.58 AD yrs x 2.5% = 26.45% longevity multiplier
3. 3351.50 x 26.45% = 886.47 longevity portion of retired pay
4. 60% CRSC with spouse and 3 C, u/18 = 1,328.39 + (2 x 52) results in much more than the longevity amount
5. Your CRSC should be ~886.47 and you will continue to receive your VA comp.

CRSC cannot exceed the longevity portion of retired pay.

Ron

$144.14 is your CRSC since the percentage approved by your service is 10% and it is less than the longevity amount.
Amount comes from VA compensation tables: 2021 Veterans disability compensation rates | Veterans Affairs <---LINK

Some general comments about CRSC for CH 61 retirees with less than 20 years active duty:
--CRSC can never be more than the amount of the waived/reduced retired pay
--CRSC can never be more than the amount associated with the CRSC percentage approved by one's service. The VA compensation tables are used for the amount.
--The combination of residual (left over) retired pay and CRSC cannot exceed the longevity portion of retired pay.
--CRSC cannot exceed the longevity portion of retired pay.
