I don't see a thread for this year, so I thought I would start it.

Background below, with IPEB in bold:
-March 2010: official diagnosis of a connective tissue disease (MCTD)
-April 2010: doc recommended "fast-track MEB" in order to get me G2G for AFG deployment in Sept 2010
-May 2010: 'fast-track' kicked back for full MEB, on DES program
-September 2010: diagnosis change/in flux, my CC refused to write his recommendation until a definitive diagnosis
-Nov 2010: definitive diagnosis (UCTD)
-10DEC2010: signed my MEB package, and PEBLO said it would be sent overnight that day

Now, I wait. Told 3 to 4 months, although looking at timelines from recent months, I am hopeful that I will hear something maybe in Feb 2011.

Here is my timeline:

July 2010: MEB initiated through PCM
Oct 2010: NARSUM completed by PCM and case routed through local MEB Board
Nov 2010: NARSUM and all medical information regarding my case was misplaced after being completed through local board
Nov-Dec 2010: NARSUM had to be reprinted, case had to go back through the local board and CC had to get involved since PEBLO was not keeping up with my case
02 Dec 2010: Package overnighted to AFPC
03 Dec 2010: Package received and signed for by personnel at AFPC

As of today, 30 Jan 11 we are coming into week 9 since the package was received by AFPC.

Oh my goodness that was fast. If you're comfortable, could you provide more data, in particular what med issue initiated an MEB, and what the outcome is.

Thanks.

EDITED: Nevermind- I read your other posts through your profile. Totally stoked how speedy yours was.....

Got an update today on my board results....

31 Jan 11: Emailed PEBLO to find out what status was since I was at the 9 wk mark. Was informed that the IPEB requested new ROM results and sent a request to my PEBLO on 11 Jan 11 (who never received). Luckily I got with my PEBLO today or we would have really been behind, so now we have a suspense date of 11 Feb 11 to get new ROM results back to AFPC. I was told that the reviewers were waiting for my package to be returned and it would not be going to the bottom of the pile; hopefully, I will have final results back by the 18th.

Thanks for the info, jackey. (On an aside, I'm totally irritated with my ROM info as I have hypermobile joints, so any joint pain is meant to be semi-evaluated with ROM, but it's totally bogus in my case. ARGH)

Getting very excited here that I may hear something soonish....

I would think your would come in soon since you were sent down a wk after me; you need to contact your PEBLO, though. I say this because if I would not have contacted my PEBLO yesterday asking for him to call AFPC we would have never known that I needed a new ROM.

From what I am gathering, my package was in front of the board on the 11th (which was at wk 5), so if I would not have needed this ROM my results would have been back within 6 wks. Now they are waiting for my new ROM so they can give directly back to the board (since you do not go back to the bottom of the list) and hopefully I should have something back within a wk to two wks after that.

Got my results today, 30% permanent retirement..my timeline is below:

July 2010: MEB initiated through PCM
Oct 2010: NARSUM completed by PCM and case routed through local MEB Board
Nov 2010: NARSUM and all medical information regarding my case was misplaced after being completed through local board
Nov-Dec 2010: NARSUM had to be reprinted, case had to go back through the local board and CC had to get involved since PEBLO was not keeping up with my case
02 Dec 2010: Package overnighted to AFPC
03 Dec 2010: Package received and signed for by personnel at AFPC
11 Jan 2011: PEB sent request to PEBLO for new ROM testing (request was never received)
31 Jan 2011: Contacted PEBLO to find status of package, was made aware of ROM request with a new NLT date of 11 Feb to have complete
11 Feb 2011: ROM test completed and sent to AFPC
14 Feb 2011: Results received with 30% Perm Retirement
16 Feb 2011: Signed results documents
18 Feb 2011: Received retirement orders
25 Feb 2011: Finalled Out of Air Force
01 Mar 2011: Start Terminal Leave
28 Mar 2011: Effective Date of Retirement

I posted a bit of this in another thread but....

Got a call from the VA in MD this morning. They have received my package and are reviewing to determine percentage. They need some additional information from me, but the good news is that it's now in the VA's grubby mitts. I read this as AFPC is done with me, and it's closer closer closer to being done!

Will update as I hear more. The rest of my timeline is the first post in this thread, fyi.

To Jackey: December 2010 Packages

Hey Jackey,

How much TIS do you have? Is your 30% really 30 or more due to your TIS x 2.5yrs? This may have said or another thread somewhere on here, but my memory isn't too good.

Thank you and best wishes.

svnthsign:

I have 15 yrs in so it will be the TIS x 2.5yrs...once the taxes come out it is basically like getting 30%. I still have to turn all my stuff into the VA with all my other issues so, I should eventually get what I was supposed to get from the Air Force before taxes.

Spoke with my MSC today, just checking on some updates I sent in (waiving additional supporting info). My MSC confirmed that the VA in MD had received my info and said they'd likely have a rating done by mid-week next week (maybe 09MAR2011). The rating then is sent back to AFPC and my MSC says it typically takes 2 to 3 weeks to flow through AFPC before I get officially notified of the decision.

Upside to all this is that my MSC says I can call him next week and he can tell me the VA rating directly. =)

To reiterate, I signed my MEB and it was sent up to AFPC for IPEB on 10DEC2010.

Got a call yesterday from my VA rep. VA's decision, 60% for my MEB'd issue (autoimmune disease) and 10% more for other randomness (which when I separated from the Army back in 2002 it was 30%) like herniated l5/s1, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, herniated disc in cervical spine.

So, my VA rep says this info was forwarded to USAF yesterday as well and to expect about 2 to 3 week turn around to hear USAF's decision.

Signed the IPEB findings today: 60% permanent.

To recap:
-March 2010: official diagnosis of a connective tissue disease (MCTD)
-April 2010: doc recommended "fast-track MEB" in order to get me G2G for AFG deployment in Sept 2010
-May 2010: 'fast-track' kicked back for full MEB, on IDES program
-September 2010: diagnosis change/in flux, my CC refused to write his recommendation until a definitive diagnosis
-Nov 2010: definitive diagnosis (UCTD)
-10DEC2010: signed my MEB package, and PEBLO said it would be sent overnight that day
-21MAR2011: notified by VA (MSC) of the VA rating, which was 60% for boarded condition and 70% total
-18APR2011: notified by PEBLO of IPEB, signed paperwork, planned retirement of 28JUL2011
