So today was my first C&P exam. Let me say this first wow. This determines the rest of your life. Very disappointed. But any way my examiner was a RN and the only time the DR came in was to conduct a 10 question neuro Psych. Can I challenge this and ask for another exam. I thought a doctor was supposed to conduct the screening?
My wife and I came out of the exam frustrated and confused?
I hope you are pleasantly surprised by the results. If you are in the IDES process, an the results are not what you deserve, you can ask for a VARR when your MH rating comes back.
Providers other than MDs/DOs can do VA exams. Was the examiner and "RN" or a nurse practitioner? Was the RN conducting the exam or gathering data for the provider. While you may not want to say what your contention was; the exam varies based on contention and in some cases a records review may give the examiner a clear picture of your limitations. A C&P exam in NOT treatment. It is a determination of limitation on earning capacity as a result of disease.
I'm not making excuses for the provider, but there are lots of variables. Wishing you the best as your continue through the process. Mike
