Georgia ADAF MEB Timeline (IDES)

Hi what all is listed in the case file during the local board? I'm at this step and I'm curious what it is.
It was a basically every document since the process started compiled into one. The provider NARSUM, the board documentation, the VA documentation etc.

4/9/24- Possible service disqualifying condition- Refer to AMRO

4/20/24- IRILO received from MH Provider

5/5/24- CIL received

5/16/24- FL4 received/recommended Full MEB

6/18/24- First C&P Exam

7/12/24- Last C&P Exam (8 in total)

7/13/24- All exams uploaded into TOL

8/15/24- MSC finally reached back out to me via email stating "Your case will be forwarded to the rating board NLT COB today, and released to your PEBLO/PEB for NARSUM review."

8/16/24- PEBLO emailed confirming she received my case. Forwarding to provider and local board for review.

8/29/24- Local board finished, reviewed case file, referred to IPEB, declined to do an IMR, and signed my 618.

9/2/24- MyFSS email: AFPC received MEB package

9/18/24- Getting impatient, called VA 1000 number. Claims are in "decision phase".

I wouldn't expect a quick turnover, seems there is a hold up somewhere. I've called the VA many times and I am still in the "decision phase."
07/30/24- MyFSS email: AFPC received MEB package

I figured. My PEBLO says they AFPC is saying to expect a 4-6 week turn around. The anticipation is killing me.
You haven't heard anything since your package was sent up?

I have been in touch with my PEBLO, he responded saying it might come in at the end of this month but who knows. The anticipation is killing me too, especially since I've read cases with as short as a 2 week turn around.

Yes exactly! I hate getting on here and comparing because I know it is just gonna drive me crazy. But I am just over everything at my job and I'm ready for the waiting game to be over and to have something definitive.

Someone has the same concern on another post and another posted this information. "The VA publishes a MONDAY MORNING REPORT weekly. That report gives you ranges and averages." I did look up the stats, kind of vague but does help!

I completely understand where you’re coming on as I’m in the PEB process as well. There is a lack of purpose at work nowadays and it kills me going in everyday knowing that, I just try and stay positive and use my time to prepare for life after the military! We’re at the end of the road we just have to push through and make sure us and our families are prepared for what’s to come!
Keep your heads up gents, we’ll get through it.

I appreciate your positivity thank you! All we can do is wait

I spoke with the Va today asking about the status of my claim and they stated they are waiting on the PEB to find me fit or unfit before they are able to finalize and propose a rating. Does this sound right to you all? I have seen on other posts that the VA SOMETIMES has a finalized and prepared rating before the PEB that you can request. The way he was speaking about it was they won’t proceed with that part until the unfit or fit decision

Yep, that is normal. It means the VA finished their proposed rating and now the DoD is applying the VA's ratings on only the unfit conditions and making an overall decision. The VA always completes the proposed rating before the PEB can do anything. The PEB needs the ratings in order to do their job and fill out the 356. There are some folks that are able to get their proposed letter from the VA ahead of time. It sucks, but all you can do is wait.

I received the same message when I called the VA. Do you know the approximate timeline as to when the DOD applies the rating and we hear something back? Thank you in advance!

Sure do! It took exactly 30 calendar days for me, exactly following the IDES timeline infographic I was handed. The VA took 16 days and the PEB added it to their queue on day 19. The PEB took 11 days. My PEBLO emailed it all to me within an hour of it being completed.

The PEBLO is supposed to inform your command within 24 hours and is required to notify you within 5 days. I read that in some instruction at one point.

Thank you for the info! Was this 30 days from the time you received the FSS email? How did you find out when the PEB added it to their queue? Sorry just trying to get as much info as possible. I'm ready to be done :)

Pretty much, I received the myFSS e-mail a day later. I say the PEB added it to their queue because that's when the PEBLO said they transmitted all the information to them.

Don't blame you for being ready to be done... this stuff takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R!
